Tim Wilkinson 1pt e/w @ 33/1 Various
Having missed only two cuts in thirteen appearances and boasting five top 10s and a runner's up spot in the Stadion Classic, Tim Wilkinson is most certainly knocking on the door for his first Web.com victory. A demon with the flat-stick, the New Zealander has a putting average of 1.714 which ranks him 5th on tour, Birdie Average ranking of 6th, 2nd in Scoring Average and most importantly for Southpointe, is 1st in Bogey Avoidance. He is accurate too, ranking 33rd in Driving Accuracy, 1st in Scrambling and 47th in Ball Striking and last time out hit over 80% of greens attempted. Wilkinson has played Southpointe twice before and managed to record an 8th placed finish back in 2011 so hopefully he can build on that coming here this year in better form.
Scott Dunlap 0.25pts e/w @ 150/1 Sky Bet
Veteran Dunlap has been having a rather good season so far in 2013 with three top 10s in 15 events and has been striking the ball fantastically on the way. Ranked 14th in Driving Accuracy, 13th in GIR and 46th in Ball Striking, he should thrive around this course and already has experience as he has played here three times, missing the cut once and recording two other places in the 20s. He is accurate and methodical and should have the game to tactically dismantle Southpointe this week.
Steve Wheatcroft 0.5pts e/w @ 66/1 Various
Wheatcroft has been working tirelessly on his game recently as he freely admitted that he had lost his swing and needed to work on his ball striking. He claims that he can "chip and putt with the best of them" and if we look at his stats when last out at the Boise Open, it looks as though his ball striking is coming together again as he ranked 11th in Accuracy and 43rd in GIR for the week. He has played Southpointe three times now and managed a 3rd place back in 2010 which should inspire him as should the fact that he sits 44th on the money list so needs a good finish here to climb into the all important top 25. One final point to note is that Wheatcroft is a former Washington resident, in fact he used to work there as a youth and will find a huge amount of local support there as well as have an in depth course knowledge. Total Staked - 3.5pts
