Hunter Haas 0.5pts e/w @ 33/1 Bet Victor
Haas has been plying his trade between the PGA and Web.com this year. His results on the PGA have been less than average but on the Web.com he has managed to post two top 10s in the last month or so alone. Last week at the Boise Open he managed to finish 6th with two average rounds bookended by a 62 and 64. He is 6th in Par Breaking, 11th in Birdie Average and 18th in Scoring Average. He sits 12th in GIR, a respectable 56th in Ball Striking and 62nd in Scrambling to round off his suitability. In terms of course form, Haas excels most of his peers with his last outing here being a victory back in 2010 and the fact that he has never missed a cut in eight appearances at Highland Springs..
Jason Gore 0.25pts e/w @ 80/1 Various
Gore is a man with seven career wins on the Web.com Tour and despite his inability to record a finish better than 11th in 2013, should not be discounted this week. His last outing was on th PGA Tour at the Reno-Tahoe where he missed the cut (like his three other PGA appearances) but looking back to May/June time he put together a good sequence of top 30 finishes. What really appeals to me this week though is the fact that he is something of a birdie machine, ranking 7th in Total Birdies, 4th in Par 4 Birdie or Better and 4th in Putting Average. He has a Scoring Average of 69.86 which will suit a course with a par value of 72 and sits in 11th in Ball Striking. In terms of course form, he has played Highland Springs six times and has a best finish of 8th but what stands out is his first round of 65 last year. .
Michael Connell 0.25pts e/w @ 125/1 Sky Bet
Texan Connell has had a mixed bag of a season so far in 2013 with five made and five missed cuts, the best of which being a 3rd at the BMW Charity Pro-Am where he went low with a -21 total. His other solid performance of the year came when last out at the Boise Open, finishing 12th with another low total of -19, quite simply he loves the low scoring events like he will face this week. Looking at his stats it is quite easy to see why as he is 4th in Birdie Average, 8th in Scoring Average with 69.5 and 5th in Par Breaking. He is also 5th in GIR, 12th in Driving Accuracy and 8th in Scrambling which will help him around Highland Springs. Connell has played the course three times without really challenging but he comes here in much better form than last year when he missed the cut. Total Staked - 2pts
