Edward Loar 1pt e/w @ 25/1 Various
Loar has simply been on fire so far this year with only one missed cut in five tournaments played, a win, a runner up and three top 10s. He currently sits atop the money list and looks like the man to beat on the 2013 Web.com Tour, especially if he can maintain his terrific run of form and continue to hit the ball as well as he has been so far. Looking at his stats he seems ideally suited to the Kinderlou with a ranking of 7th in Ball Striking, Scoring Average of 68.61 and sitting 3rd in the Par 5 Birdie or Better statistic. He hits the ball well over 300 yards which will be ideal here and ranks 21st in Total Driving, not to mention 13th in Putting Average with 1.712, I simply cant pick a hole in him. The one thing going against him is the fact that he has never played the course before but his stats and the fact that he is a Texan and will therefore be an experienced wind player simply outweigh that small negative.
Daniel Chopra 1pt e/w @ 50/1 Various
This 39 year old Swede has a fantastic track record not only on the Web.com Tour where he has won three titles but on the PGA, European, Asian and Challenge Tours where he has a whole host of wins. Chopra has been in the wilderness of late, his last win was back in 2011, but he seems to be coming back to form as four top 20s in four appearances on US soil prove. On his day, Chopra is a fine player and has always been a great player in the wind and, if combined with his scoring average of 69.38 and 7th place ranking in Par 5 Birdie or Better Leaders, makes him a contender this week. He has form on this course too with his sole appearance here in 2011 resulting in a 13th place finish, carding three rounds under par.
Nick Flanagan 1pt e/w @ 80/1 Various
Another player who will know how to deal with the wind should it start blowing up is Aussie Flanagan who despite being only 28 years old can lay claim to four Web.com victories. To be quite honest I am surprised that he is as big a price as he is this week as he comes here in reasonable form finishing 4th last out at the WNB Golf Classic and also has a 9th in Panama. Flanagan also has the added bonus of having played the course before behind him, in fact he has been around Kinderlou three times, only missing the cut once and finishing 20th in 2010. He is 15th in Total Driving, 10th in Par 5 Birdie or Better Leaders, 19th in Ball Striking, 2nd in the All-Around ranking and consistently hits the ball over 300 yards. A very strong contender this week in my eyes.
Will MacKenzie 0.5pts e/w @ 80/1 Various
A man who has fallen from grace in recent times is 38 year old MacKenzie who has two PGA titles to his name, albeit the last coming back in 2008. He has been in somewhat of a barren spell in recent years but recently he has begun to indicate that his game is coming back together. His last start at the WNB Golf Classic yielded a 4th place finish and he bookended two rounds of 68 in Colombia so a return to a course where he posted his best finish last year (7th) bodes well for him this week. His game appears to suit the course as well, ranking 4th in Total Driving, 17th in Par 5 Birdie or Better Leaders, 6th in Ball Striking and having a scoring average of bang on 70.00. His iron play is also exceptional so far this year as he ranks 22nd in GIR and 6th in Scrambling, two attributes that will most certainly help rather than hinder in Valdosta. Total staked - 7pts
