Troy Merritt 0.5pts e/w @ 50/1 Various

Merritt is purely a play based on his stats for me this week as his one previous outing here last year ended in a missed cut. In six appearances on the Web.com Tour in 2013 he has made every cut and finished no worse than 52nd. Last week in the South Georgia Classic he came a highly respectable 15th despite an over par final round and hit over 73% of Greens in Regualation. For the season he is 11th in GIR with 75%, 7th in Scoring Average with 69.60, 11th in Par 3 Birdie or Better Leaders, 9th in Par 3 Scoring Average and hits the ball over 295 yards off the tee. 

Bhavik Patel 0.5pts e/w @ 66/1 Various

In six outing in 2013 Patel has made the cut in three, more importantly though, in those three cuts made he has finished no worse than 20th. He is 55th in GIR at 68.33%, 29th in Putting Average, 4th in Par 3 Birdies or Better leaders, 1st in Par 3 Scoring Average and 7th in Scrambling should he miss the greens. Despite his small stature (he stands at just 5ft 8in) Patel has been averaging a huge 306.2 yards off the tee which will be a bonus given the length of most of the holes here. Although he has never played at UGA before, it is encouraging that in his first outing in Georgia he finished 11th on a course that didn't suit as well as it should this week..

Tyrone Van Aswegen 0.5pts e/w @ 70/1 Bet365

South African Van Aswegen has never won on a major tour but I'm not going to let that deter me this week as I think that is why he is such a large price. He ranks 33rd in GIR with 70.56%, is 29th in Putting Average, 36th in Putts Per Round and has a Scoring Average of 70.68 which will be invaluable on a Par 71 course. Most noticably to me though is that he ranks 13th in Par 3 Birdie or Better Leaders and 27th in Par 3 Scoring Average, again key with four Par 3 holes at UGA. The 31 year old has course form too with a MC in 2011 followed by an impressive 5th last year where he shot all four rounds under par, including a 65. He comes here following an 8th in the South Georgia Classic and hasn't missed a cut in his last three apearances.
