The Web.com Tour travels to Kansas this week for the Midwest Classic. Two of the top three players on the money list are in the field - Andrew Putnam and 4-time European Tour winner Alex Cejka. Carlos Ortiz currently leads Putnam by $60,488 on the money list but as Ortiz is not in the field, Putnam can take over the top spot with a win or a solo second place finish this week. The event will be held at Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate in Overland Park. The par-71 course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, opened in 2001. Nicklaus Golf Club has hosted this tournament four times prior to this week and has also been home to the Champions Tour in 2005 and 2006. JUST THE ONE PICK THIS WEEK:
Andrew Putnam - 1.25pts e/w @ 28/1 - After an explosive start to the season with three top 10s in his first three tournaments (including a runner up spot) and a win at the WNB in April, Putnam's form slowed down a bit. He bounced back to form last week at the Boise Open with a 4th after a series of MCs and mediocre finishes. He will be looking to take advantage of Ortiz not playing this week and snatching the lead on the Money List.
Total Staked - 2.5pts |
