Blayne Barber - 1pt e/w @ 33/1 - Barber is a fantastic talent who deserves to be playing amongst the elite. He sits 12th in Driving Accuracy, 4th in Putting and Birdie Average and 4th in Scoring Average at under 70 which will certainly help around the par 70 Valley Course. He comes here on the back of a 6th last week and will certainly relish playing in his home State of Florida. He already has six top ten finishes on the Web.com this year and can boast a 15th on this course on his only other previous visit last year. Brad Fritsch - 0.75pts e/w @ 50/1 - Fritsch stood out to me this week as he has great form on the Valley Course with a 2nd last year and a 10th back in 2012 in a seperate event called the Jacksonville Open. He had a good year on the PGA with two top 10s and a 13th but a number of missed cuts saw him drop down here to try and keep his card. It is a little worrying that he has two missed cuts and an average 46th in the Fall series on the Web.com but his 2nd place in this tournament came on the back of three straight MCs in this series too. Chad Campbell - 0.5pts e/w @ 60/1 - Campbell had a relatively mixed season of the PGA Tour this year, combining just four missed cuts with three top 15 finishes, including a 7th at the tricky Traveler's Championship. He sits in 16th position for Ball Striking on the PGA Tour for 2014 as well as 1st in GIR at over 72%, so will relish a tricky track like this. JJ Henry - 0.5pts e/w @ 60/1 - Another player who has taken the step down in order to regain his card and avoid losing it after a 10 year consecutive run on the PGA Tour is Henry. He, like Campbell, also ranked highly in Ball Striking on the PGA, 9th overall and sat in 5th for GIR at just under 70%. After a mediocre finish at the Hotel Fitness Championship and a MC at the Chiquita Classic, Henry bounced back with a 5th last week on what was a more difficult course. His game should suit Sawgrass Valley and he should be backed to make it back onto the main tour convincingly. Byron Smith 0.25pts e/w @ 250/1 and 1pt win Top 10 @ 22/1 - I have selected the big staked Smith for a couple of reasons, the first being that he has had a relatively solid season in 2013, making the cut in 60% of the tournaments he has played in and recording a win at the Midwest Classic. This win brings me on to the second reason for backing him, albeit a tenious one, in as much as 2013 Tour Championship winner Chesson Hadley also performed well at Lionsgate, finishing 3rd. Smith has previous course form at Sawgrass Valley too, finishing 8th with four rounds of par or better so it is clear that he likes courses where par is 71 or less.
