The third installment of the Brasil Champions is contested at the Sao Paulo Golf Club, a 6,574 yard Par 71 course. Kyle Stanley 0.25pts e/w @ 80/1 - Oh how the mighty have fallen. Three years ago Stanley was the winner of the prestigious Phoenix Open on the PGA, capturing the title a week after finishing runner up in the Farmer's Insurance Open, he now finds himself struggling on the Web.com tour and playing limited PGA events. The fact of the matter is though, Stanley has the quality to bounce back if he can sort out the flat stick and when he is trading close to triple figures I want to be onside. He missed the cut last week but we can forgive him for that as the wind was aggressive. Rhein Gibson 0.5pts e/w @ 80/1 - Last week's missed cut was Gibson's first MC in over six months, a period that included a 6th in Panamaand four top 15s on the One Asia and Australiasia Tours. The talented Australian sits 3rd in birdie average for the year so far which will serve him him well given that Curran's 2014 winning score was 25 under. He could be one to surprise this week. Wes Roach - 0.5pts e/w 100/1 - A triple figure price for a man who competed reguarly on the PGA Tour last year and managed a 4th at the Puerto Rico Open in 2014. There also seems to be a link to Puerto Rico here as last year's winner Jon Curran showed last week by narrowly missing out on victory in a playoff on the step up in class. Roach has played Sao Paulo before as well, finishing 5th in 2013 and carding a 63 in round 3. he hasnt done much so far this ye on the web.com but ould just click this week. Tommy Gainey - 0.25pts e/w @ 100/1 - Two Gloves is another man who has fallen from grace as he too was a PGA Tour tournament winner in 2012 at the McGladery Classic. He is making the most of the limited number of exemptions he has on the PGA tour but so far in 2015 has missed the cut in every tournament he has played on there. A 31st in Colombia on the Web.com is a small sign of progress but it was his birdie average ranking of 6th which attracted me this week, he will need plenty of birdies to post a low score to win here. Ashley Hall - 0.25pts e/w @ 125/1 - Shot three rounds of 65 or better here last year before posting a lacklustre final round of 70 but still finished a respectable 3rd. he is the highest finisher of last year to be represtenting this week. His form so far this season has been mixed with a MC, 65th and 15th to his name but shouldnt be triple figures. Total Staked - 3.5pts |
