The Web.com season has come to its conclusion here at Dye's Valley Course and the Tour Championship. This is the final opportunity for players to sneak into the top 25 on the money list and secure thier PGA Tour card for next year. The Valley Course is a Par 70 track and is well reknowned for being one of the toughest on the tour and very narrow so we should definitely be looking for someone who ranks highly in Driving Accuracy and Bogey Avoidance.
My Picks are as follows:
Andres Romero - 0.5pts e/w @ 40/1 - A little bit of a worry in that he comes here off the back of an injury but the fact is that up until then, Romero was having a good season on the PGA Tour, finishing 6th at the Greenbrier Classic and recording two other top 15 finishes. He is a good playerwho has a win on the PGA back in 2008. Its a small punt but one worth taking I believe. Patton Kizzire - 0.5pts e/w @ 50/1 - The stand out player of the year for me on the Web.com Tour and most likely to create waves on the PGA Tour next year. He is 1st on the Money List with two wins, two runners up, a third and 11 top 10s in total. He leads the rankings in Scoring Average at 68.74, Putting Average and Par Breaking and sits 3rd in Bogey Avoidance. Two small worries exist in that he withdrew last week and has never played this course but I think that is reflected in his price. Billy Hurley -0.25pts e/w @ 66/1 - I was drawn towards Hurley as he is an accurate player (39th on the PGA for Driving Accuracy) and I think he should fit the style of the course - highlighted by his 8th place here back in 2013.He was 9th last week on a tricky course and could go one better this week. Michael Kim - 0.25pts @ 70/1 - College player of the year back in 2013 and has already tasted the PGA Tour. He will be back there next year as he is 13th on the Money List after five top 10s over the course of the season. He is a great young talent who is yet to cross the winning line but could step up this week. He is 5th in Bogey Avoidance, 4th in Scoring Average and 30th in Driving Accuracy. He has some course form in that he was 14th here last year. Wes Roach - 0.125pts e/w @ 175/1 - An explosive start to the year with a win at the El Bosque Mexico Championship has led to him being 13th on the Money List but his form has dipped slightly since July with a host of MCs and average finishes. He missed the cut last week but does have course form, finishing 5th here back in 2012 at the Jacksonville Open. He is a good putter who ranks highly in putting stats as well as being 12th in Scoring Averageand Par Breaking. Darren Stiles - 0.125pts e/w @ 300/1 - I have to go with Stiles this week for the simple reason he was one of the first names that popped up in the rankings for Bogey Avoidance at 6th. He is well known as one of the most accurate players on tour (2nd in DA) and has a Scoring Average of 69.55. He has a runner up finish in Kansas at the Digital Ally Openand a 5th at the Air Capital Classic so has had a good season and shouldnt really be high triple figures in my view.
