The Web.com arrives at a new course this week, the Tom Fazio designed Corales Puntacana Resort in the Dominican Republic. Being a new course, it is difficult to know what sort of attributes best fit the golf club but a qucik perusal on the PGA Tour site reveals that the course should favour the longer hitter as it will play to close to 7,600 yards and features two par 5's that are over 620 yards. The course also sits on the coast so we should be looking at a player with good coastal golf or links experience. My picks are as follows:
Martin Flores - 1pt e/w @ 22/1 - Nice and big off the tee, Flores sits 5th in Driving Distance at an average of 306 yards.Adept to wind play and fared well in Brazil and Mexico. Jack Maguire - 0.5pts e/w @ 66/1 - A great young talent, big off the tee and who has played well in windy conditions. Could be his breakthrough week on a tough course. Sebastian Munoz - 0.5pts e/w @ 100/1 - Has played well in the wind, winning in Colombia and finishing in the top 10 in Louisiana. Another Texas alumini, he should be able to handle some stong winds and has played well on and around the greens this season. Rodolfo Cazaubn - 0.25pts e/w @ 200/1 - 3rd on the PGA Tour in Puerto Rico in windy conditions anda Texas alumini so should bevery handy in the wind. A bit of a chance but one worth it at treble figures.
Total Staked - 4.5pts
