This is the eight year of the Mexico Championship and the sixth year on the El Bosque course. Coming in at just over 7,700 yards, the course plays to a Par 72 but is one of the toughest on tour, often playing to an average of closer to 73. Being so long and being home to a number of tricky hazards including a large lake on the 9th hole, an excellent driver of the ball will almost certainly triumph this week and a player ranking highly in Total Driving should be favoured. Given the couse reguarly plays over its par value then we should also look for someone with a decent scoring average and ranking highly in the All Round stat.

My picks are as follows:

Martin Flores - 1pt e/w @ 20/1 - A cut above the rest as proved by his three top 10s and no worse than 35th finish in all five Web.com events so far this year. He has form here too, making the cut in both outings and managing a credible 11th.  He is 26th in Total Driving, 4th in Scoring Average and 7th in All Round ranking.

Andrew Putnam - 0.5pts e/w @ 33/1 - This man's brother is a previous winner of this event and Andrew's form isnt too shabby around here eitherwith a 9th and 24th to his name. He was 4th last week in Colombia despite a terrible first round of 80 and also managed a 7th in the Colombia Championship in February - he obviously likes South America. Sitting 20th in All Round ranking and 13th in Scoring Average he fits the mould to do well this week.

Jose de Jesus Rodriguez - 0.25pts e/w @ 125/1 - A Mexican national who seems to like it around here at El Bosque - recording finishes of 4th and 6th . He is 4th in Scoring Average on the LatinoAmerican Tour and one to watch at a big price.

Total Staked - 3.5pts
