A new season and a new sense of optimism! It is tough to find confident bets at this point of the year given the lack of golf that has been played so I am basing most of my picks on form at the back end of last year and general talent.

I have decided to go with a number of larger priced players in the hope that they may surprise as the bookies will have as little information as us. All these players have performed well in the past, made the PGA Tour and dropped back down after a small blip in form or are suprememly talented players making a hard slog at getting to the big league.

My picks are as follows:

Hao Tong Li - 0.5pts e/w @ 33/1

Jonathan Randolph - 0.25pts e/w @ 200/1

Max Homa - 0.25pts e/w @ 175/1

Austin Connolly- 0.125pts e/w @ 200/1

Oliver Goss -  0.125pts e/w @ 200/1
