Victoria National Golf Club hosts the Web.com this week and it is one of the hardest courses on the tour this year, playing well over its Par 72 value. The rough is thick and is 'a blend of four bluegrass varieties' that are 'maintained in  their natural states', meaning that the rough will feel softer and faster than most players are used to should it be found. The greenstend to play fast and in turn make putting tricky so a player who ranks highly in the putting stats should be favoured this week.

I have struggled to find a stand out pick this week so I have decided to side with a group of talented players who have shown immense promise and are likely to be gracing the PGA sooner rather than later. Some of these players may have had a small dip in form recently and as a result seen their prices drift out but I feel as though the cream should rise to the top here and I would like to be on side at decent odds.

My picks are as follows:

Ryan Armour - 1pt e/w @ 25/1 - A player in great form, he hasnt missed a cut this year on the Web.com and has three top 10s including a win in Panama. He was 2nd here in 2014 so should know the track well and sits 6th in Scoring Average, 1st in All Around Ranking and 3rd in GIR.

Matt Atkins - 0.5pts e/w @ 50/1 - Young Atkins has also had a good year, also not missing a cut. He has two top 10s which include a runner's up spot in Colombia. He has played here before, finishing a credible 35th last year on his debut. Atkins sits 9th in SA and a respectable 25th in Putting Average.

John Merrick - 0.25pts e/w @ 70/1 - A regular on the PGA until this year, Merrick still has some form of exemption that allows him to periodorically play on the bigger tour. Lastweek was one of those weeks and he teed it upat the Texas Open, finishing a credible 42nd. He has been a mixed bag on the Web.com, with a host of MCs and three top 20s but his stats catch the eye. He is 8th in Scoring Average, 11th in GIR, 46th in Putting Average and 25th in Ball Striking. He will feel he should be back on the PGA Tour reguarly and should seize this opportunity.

Adam Svensson - 0.25pts e/w @ 80/1 - A great young talent who has fallen by the wayside since he made his 2016 PGA Tour debut at the Puerto Rico Open. He made the cut last time out in Mexico but looked far from convincing. However, he is an accurate driver, solid putter and capable of going low as demonstarted when he won Web.com Q School with 20 under.

Dominic Bozzelli - 0.125pts e/w @ 175/1 - Another brilliant young talent who has dropped back a bit. He still sits 26th in SA, 33rd in Putting Average and 26th in the All Around so should be more than capable of showing up again at some point. He was 9th at the season opener in Panama before missing two cuts on the bounce but two finishes on the bounce show he is on his way back to finding his game and at a big three figure price he is worth having on side.

Jack Maguire - 0.125pts e/w @ 250/1 - A great young talent who finished 58th on his debut at the US Open after qualifying through sectionals in Florida. He has just been signed to a prominant sports agency for a large sum of money so they can obviously see his talent. He has played twice on the PGA Tour and missed the cut but this is his debut on the Web.com. As a result, he is a big price and I will continue to back him at decent odds as he is sure to feature high on the leaderboard sooner rather than later. (Added 08.59am 28th April)

Total Stake - 4.5pts
