Victoria National Golf Club hosts the Web.com this week and it is one of the hardest courses on the tour this year, playing well over its Par 72 value. The rough is thick and is 'a blend of four bluegrass varieties' that are 'maintained in  their natural states', meaning that the rough will feel softer and faster than most players are used to should it be found. The greens tend to play fast and in turn make putting tricky so a player who ranks highly in the putting stats should be favoured this week. Bogey Avoidance should also be follwed when selecting a player as holes 17 and 18 are a pair of tough Par 4s that continuously force bogeys. Based on this it might be worth looking at players who ranks highly in Par 4 Birdies or Better.

It is also worth nothing that the two previous winners of this event, Smylie Kauffman and Seamus Power were both young, up and coming players who could really hit it off the tee.

My picks are as follows:

Adam Long - 0.5pts e/w @ 66/1 - A man who has made every cut on the Web.com this year with a 4th last time out. He is a previous runner up here back in 2015 where he carded a round of 65. Big off the tee and 8th in Putting Average, he also sits 35th in Scoring Average which all adds up well for him.

Roger Sloan - 0.5pts e/w @ 70/1 - 5th last time out in Louisiana and 5th last year here, Sloan is definitely a man to watch this week. He is big off the tee and ranks a respectable 45th in Bogey Avoidance.

Jack Maguire - 0.5pts e/w @ 80/1 - I backed young Jack last year and he very nearly delivered had it not been for a 72 in round two. He is powerful off the tee and a very up and coming player. He is 19th in Bogey Avoidance and a respectable 43rd in the Par 4 birdie or better stat. A 10th last year here along with 16th and 5th so far this season and he ticks the box at a decent price.

Tom Lovelady -0.25pts e/w @ 150/1 - Another monster off the tee but Tom also has a knack for putting as he sits 4th in Putting Average and 5th in Birdie or Better %. One missed cut this year and a season best of 8th sees him simmering ready to win on the tour at some stage, whether it can be on a course debut remians to be seen but worth the huge price.

Total Staked - 3.5pts
