North Carolina is the next stop for the Web.com and the TPC Wakefield Plantation course. A Par 71 track that comes in at 7,250 yards, TPC Wakefield seems very much to be a horses for courses venue as Kyle Thompson has proved with three victories here. The fairways are lined by pine trees and offer challenges such as numerous creeks winding through the course and strategically placed ponds. This will be a shot maker's paradise and will be won by someone who can accurately plot their way around the course. My picks are as follows:
Kyoung-Hoon Lee - 1pt ew @ 33/1 - At an inflated price this week most likely due to a missed cut last week. The fact is that Lee has 3 runner up finishes this year already and comes to a course where he was 3rd last year and has hit two rounds of 66. He is 25th in Ball Stirking, 17th in GIR and 12th in Par Breaking. Alex Prugh - 1pt ew @ 60/1 - A man with course form (only one missed cut in 5 appearances and a 6th last year) and the stats to back it up. He is 9th in Ball Striking, 11th in GIR and 11th in GIR from the Fairway. No real form of late but an 12th at the Knoxville Open showed some promise and a return to familiar ground may help. Max Marsico - 0.25pts ew @ 400/1 - A bit of a wild pick at 400s but Max rates 6th in Ball Striking and 18th in GIR which should stand him well here. He has no course form to speak of and can only boast a best finish of 11th this year but I have a feeling he could be up there.
Total Staked - 4.5pts
