B.C. Open
Outright plays (1 unit): Jay
Haas to win 22/1 e.w. @
Five
Dimes (.5 units to win & .5 units to finish in
top-5) or BetInternet
Wouldn't automatically side with a player who failed to qualify for the British
Open on Monday, but Jeff Sluman did the same last year and won this event. Haas
won this event in 1981 and has a decent chance of repeating that feat. He
finished in the top-5 last year and has done so in three of his last five visits
to En-Joie, plus he has finished in the top-20 in his last two events, including
the U.S. Open. Impressive for this quality of field.
David Peoples to win 35/1 e.w. @ Five
Dimes (.5 units to win & .5 units to finish in
top-5)
It's been ten years since Peoples won on Tour, but he has shown some good form
this season. He finished 2nd in the Memorial Tournament, had a promising first
54 holes last week and hasn't missed the cut in his last six events. A mixed
history in this event, but in enough form to challenge this week.
Glen Hnatiuk to win 40/1 e.w. @ Bet365
or Sporting Odds
Yet to win on Tour, but is in enough form to break his duck.
He led for three days in the St. Jude Classic before finishing succumbing to the
pressure with a final round 77 to finish 14th. It is only his 2nd round over-par
in his last six events, in which he has made the cut every time. Suffering with
an elbow injury at the moment, but it does not seem to be affecting his game too
seriously. Hopeful he can repeat his top-3 finish of two years ago.
Matchup plays (1 unit):
Brett Quigley to beat Paul Gow -125 @ Aces
or Carib
Quigley is a course specialist with three top-10 finishes in
the last four years. Easy to side with him against a player who will be playing
his eighth straight event.
Glen Hnatiuk to beat Pat Perez -110 @ Bet365
He may have finished 2nd in the Buick Classic last month, but
in nine events since the beginning of April, Perez has missed the cut six times
and finished 50th and 56th on the other two occasions. With no course
experience, I can't see him having another one of those career weeks.
Craig Stadler to beat Heath Slocum -133 @ Easybets
Slocum is another player completely out-of-form. He has
missed the cut in six of his last eight events, finishing 19th and 73rd on the
other two occasions. No course experience, so will side the Walrus whose game
has shown some considerable improvement since the Memorial.
Final update:

Quigley/Gow LOST by 9 (at the cut)
Hnatiuk/Perez WON by 6 (at the cut)
Stadler/Slocum LOST by 3
Outrights: 0-3; -3.00 units
