Betfair Picks - PGA Tour

Tipster: Shaker

Chrysler Championship @ Betfair

Summary:
3.5 pts down the drain with Campbell being rubbish from the off and Baird quickly losing all chance just a few holes into the third round.

Selection 1 Back:
Chad Campbell 2 pts @ 70
Despite winning once this year, to call 2004 a disappointment for young Chad would be a big understatement. There is little in his recent form to suggest he'll suddenly find it again but I am going to take a chance on a big return to form this week. Since the start of 2003 he has had a tied-8th the week after a MC, a tied-6th following a tied-74th, a tied 7th following a tied-40th, a 2nd following a T39th, a 2nd following a tied-48th ..... get my drift?!! And despite his last two efforts being poor he actually has 5 top-10s from his last 8 events in Florida, including a tied-4th here last year.
Selection 1 Lay:
2 pts @ 18 (to lose 34 pts)
4 pts @ 8 (28 pts)
6 pts @ 4.5 (21 pts) Profit if successful = 55 pts

Selection 2 Back:

Briny Baird 1.5 pts @ 85
Another who has been disappointing this year, well at least compared to his 2003 tally of 7 top-10s. Last week's 2nd place was his first top-10 since late February, but it was a very impressive performance from this top-class iron player. He hit so many approaches close to the pin last week that, even allowing for the very different course this time around, he has to go close if in the same form. In fact, the type of course here should suit this sometimes shaky putter even more than the Disney 'birdie-fest' ... looking at last year's top 8 finishers, 5 of them were in the top 12 for GIR percentages over the whole of the PGA season, and 6th-placed Levet was 4th in the European GIR list. Included there is Baird himself, 2nd-best GIR for the year, and finishing clear 3rd in the tournament and clear top for GIR for the week. Despite the generally poor look of his 2004, he is still 7th overall for GIR and after last week absolutely everything looks in place for a big run.
Selection 2 Lay:
1.5 pts @ 18 (to lose 25.5 pts)
3 pts @ 9.4 (25.2 pts)
6 pts @ 4.4 (20.4 pts)
6 pts @ 2.4 (8.4 pts) Profit if successful = 46.5 pts

The lays are at set prices, based on the original back price, and are left up for the duration of the tournament. Please note: they are to be put up as soon as possible after the market is placed in-running.
