FUNAI Classic
Tournament Trades (Andy) (0.5 pt stakes)
Summary: -8.25 pts
Strange how a week works out. I had less
confidence in Lehman and he was the only one to make us any money. Sell Fred
Funk at 35 with Spreadex MU
44.5, Loss 4.75 Pts.
Funk is one of these players who finishes high on a regular basis but
never wins. Well that argument went in the bin two weeks ago. Three top
3's since the summer suggest Funk is a player who isn't just a
journeyman on tour. With an average field here this week 35 is probably
not giving him the respect he should command in this event.
Sell Duffy Waldorf at 34 with
Spreadex MU 50, Loss 8 Pts.
Won this event in 2000 and recently has put together a run from which
the average FP would have been around 25 in his last 8 events. With a
known downside this is worthy of a bet as I would pitch him around 30 in
this company.
Sell Brad Faxon at 35 with
Spreadex MU 50, Loss 7.5 Pts
The Disney is essentially a putting contest and Faxon is up with the
best of them in that stat. In the last eight events he has made the cut
he has cleared 35th place usually with some ease so he is a man to rely
on at the moment in FP trading.
Sell Tom Lehman at 31.5 (Spread Free) with
Spreadex MU
7.5, Profit 12 Pts.
With the extra 1.5 pts on offer at Spreadex by picking a fourth player,
Lehman comes into this as a fair if not overly confident bet. His recent
record is brilliant, Top 20 in six of his last eight events and Top 5 in
three of the last four. He was 22nd last year and 66th the year before
in this putting contest. To finish as well as he has recently does mean
his putting is good at the moment, there is too much class on this tour
that to get regular Top 20's you can't get by without putting well. 31.5
though is about as low as I would like to go on this bet. |
