Spread Picks - PGA Tour

Tipsters: Andy & Shaker

The International

2nd round 18-holers (Shaker):

Buy Tom Lehman/Jonathan Kaye 18H MB at 4 with Spreadex for 0.25 pts MU -15, Loss = 4.75 pts
Buy Mark Hensby/Jonathan Kaye 18H MB at 3 with Spreadex for 0.25 pts MU 18, Profit = 3.75 pts
Taking on Kaye as he reportedly has a very troublesome hand injury and has said that had this been any other event (he is a Colorado boy) he would've withdrawn yesterday. But as it is this event he intends playing on today despite realising that having to quit mid-round is still a real possibility. These plays surely have to be worth taking on in the circumstances, with his form still poor (season been hampered by back problems), Lehman currently sitting in tied-4th and playing well here the last two years, and Hensby managing to recover from a bad start in round one with a score of 2 under par for his final eight holes. The threeball time is 20:10 (UK).

Tournament trades (Andy) (Overall +21.25 Pts)

Sell Jay Haas FP at 34 with Spreadex for 0.5 pts. MU 5, Profit 14.5 pts
Haas always plays here and has an ok record. His average FP will be around the 34 you can sell at with Spreadex. What is making him worth a bet this week is the fact he has the "Ryder Cup" agenda in his mind where a big finish will help towards his qualification. Haas has 4 Top 10's and 2 MC's in his last 6 events over 3 tours and has a FP average much less than 34 over the season as a whole.

Sell Justin Leonard FP at 36 with Sporting Index for 0.5 pts.  MU 16.5, Profit 9.75 pts
Not the greatest course record here with a 5th in 1996 his best record in 6 attempts. His current form is sketchy too with two Top 20's at Troon and The Colonial surrounded by three missed cuts. Even allowing for all that 36 is just a bit too high for Leonard. This suggestion though is purely based on price as there is no hard evidence to back the bet up rather than his all round ranking.

Sell Kirk Triplett FP at 35 with Cantor Sports for 0.5 pts. MU 41, Profit -3 pts
Four top 20's in eight suggest Triplett is a fair shout at 35. Currently he is doing similar with 5 top 20's in 10 events this year. With that info 35 is a good price to play at.
