Michelin Championship Finishing Positions (0.5pt stakes)
From Shaker:
Sell Kirk Triplett FP at 30 (generally available)
Not always a lot to say about trading the finishing
positions, generally it's just that our figures don't agree with the
prices provided. In Triplett's case I would have him anything up to 5
pts lower than the 30-33 quote available everywhere except Sporting
Index. Has a big preference for easy courses and came back from a break
to record a 7th place finish last week, closing with weekend scores of
65 & 66.
Result: MU 50, Loss = 10 pts
(Really surprised at this very poor performance)
From Andy:
Buy Hunter Mahan at 32 with
IG Sport
M/U 50, Profit 9 pts.
Profit never in doubt after Mahan took a 9
at a par 3 on Friday.
Going against all known facts here and opposing the new "great hope" of
American golf. Top 25 in his last 5 events, 3 of which were Top 5
suggests i am mad to oppose in a weakish field needing north of 32 to
succeed but when you put all the facts into the mix 32 is too low by a
point or two. His 2004 record previous to this great run is 21 events,
one top 20 and 12 missed cuts. He went on this run in August in Reno and
stayed on it for 5 weeks without a break. He comes back this week and we
will see if the new or old Hunter turns up. At the prices offered i feel
value is with the latter even although many people believe he is a good
outright selection (Stanley included). |
