Tournament trades (1.5pts):
Justin Leonard to beat Joe Durant -110 @
BlueSq
Leonard is not exactly competitive at the moment, but his 9-for-9 in
cuts made in 2004 makes him ideal matchup material. His worst finish
this year has been 44th. He has finished ahead of Durant in their last
three common events so should be shorter odds to repeat the feat.
Justin Leonard to beat Kevin Sutherland -140 @ WSEX
Easy to oppose Sutherland who has missed three of his last four cuts. In
fact, he has only finished ahead of Leonard three times in the past
year, so there should be little reason to expect anything but a Leonard
win here.
Jay Haas to beat Steve Flesch -125 @
Sportingbet
and
Sporting Odds
Flesch has failed to finish ahead of Haas in any of their last five PGA
Tour events and he missed the cut last year. Did consider Haas for the
outrights (top-5 only), but looks a much better proposition in matches
like this.
Davis Love to beat Mike Weir -128 @
Centrebet
Barring a troublesome back, this should be straightforward for Love.
Weir has two missed cuts and a finish of 45th in his last three events
and looks set to struggle again around this demanding course.

Leonard/Sutherland LOST by 7
Haas/Flesch LOST by 5
Love/Weir TIED (Dead heat)
Another sorry effort! At least two out of four being tied, it could very easily have been a 2-2 week, but the result was a very poor blank.

Tournament Trades (1.5 pts):
David Toms to beat Shigeki Maruyama -111
@
SIA
Fancy a big week with Toms, after showing some great iron play last
week, coming back to the course he plotted his way around so well last
year. Maruyama has had nearly a month's break, had lost his form prior
to that, and missed the cut here last year.
Sergio Garcia to beat Chris DiMarco -111 @
Easybets
It's hard to predict what DiMarco is going to do from week to week,
but I'm fairly sure that tough courses aren't his cup of tea. He seems
to thrive where it's more of a putting contest whereas I think the
opposite is true of Garcia. He's reported to be coming back refreshed
from a break after his super finish at Augusta and should be in a better
frame of mind than DiMarco, who finished with a shocking 80 on Monday in
New Orleans.
Zach Johnson to beat Geoff Ogilvy -110 @
SkyBet
If Johnson isn't the better player already, I'm sure he soon will
be. He's quickly made a name for himself and his accurate game suggests
he'll continue to excel on the tougher tracks of the big tournaments.
Ogilvy has had a good run but that will end soon and it's likely to come
at a course where his inaccuracy gets punished.

Hidemichi Tanaka to beat Geoff Ogilvy +108 @
Five Dimes
Tanaka bounced right back to form last week and he seems to have
found his accuracy after a poor start to the season. This likeable
character has what it takes to put in a consistent run and I can see
this place suiting him.
Hidemichi Tanaka to beat Steve Flesch +100 @
NordicBet
Flesch had it all going for him last week, a perfect chance to break
his run of generally poor form at a venue where he'd excelled in many
previous years .. but he failed miserably. Can't see him, therefore,
suddenly bouncing back here where he missed the cut last year.
Scott Hoch to beat Kirk Triplett +132 @
Pinnacle
It's the odds making me go in here as much as anything. Ordinarily
Triplett bangs in plenty of high finishes but he had the perfect chance
to build on a Masters 6th, and show he was really back to form again,
when he opened with a 66 last week. However it all went downhill from
there and T61st was the result. Even Hoch's disappointing finish
surpassed that and he had had two very pleasing consecutive top tens
before that.
