Finishing Positions (0.5 Pt Stakes)
Bets: 6 Wins: 3 Losses: 3 Profit/Loss
= 0.75 Pts. A winning week here (just) but not
by much and not to absorb the loss in Holland.
Campbell's birdie run on the back 9 on Sunday ultimately
put paid to that possibility.
Pre Round Four Trades
Buy Geoff Ogilvy at 35 with
Spreadex M/U 33, Loss 1 Pt
39 players are within 4 shots of the lead today and that
makes for a very interesting night over on the
exchanges. Ogilvy is tied with a few players just
outside that list and I feel that 35 is just a little
low considering what he has in front of him. With
regards to other bets, anything can really happen today
as it did yesterday. From a 50 M/U in waiting, Campbell
was at one point tied 2nd but ended up outside the Top
10 after all the other players who went out late had
played. We have 6 players today who could all
conceivably be losers or all winners and the difference
between both is not that wide. All the prices on our
interests are about right so if anyone didn't fancy the
volatility involved I wouldn't talk you out of closing.
To do so just now on the five traded players would
provide a break even week roughly but the value call is
to let it run.
Pre Round Three Trades
Buy Bo Van Pelt at 31 with
Spreadex M/U 42.5, Profit
5.75 Pts
Buy Stuart Appleby at 32 with
Spreadex M/U 9.5, Loss
11.25 Pts
Buy Chad Campbell at 39 with
Spreadex M/U 16.5, Loss
11.25Pts
Buy Retief Goosen at 25.5 (Spread Free) with
Spreadex M/U 50, Profit
12.25 Pts
Four trades where the price is low even although we have
the perfect cut line of 70 players which isn't the best
situation for FP Buyers. Goosen sits 43rd, Campbell
54th, Van Pelt and Appleby 30th, so if they perform as
they have done the first two days we should come out of
this event ok.
Pre Round Two Trades
Buy Billy Mayfair at 26 with
IG
Sport M/U 38.5, Profit 6.25
Pts
Arguably a couple of points too low. Mayfair is
currently T12 with 9 others but has a later tee time
today and there are enough quality players in this
event. All in all, worth a trade at 25. He certainly has
been in good form of late but there are some big numbers
being shot on this course and in events where it isn't
just a birdie fest buying a player at 25 or less with
three rounds to go has some value when their current M/U
is not too much below that.
