Houston Open
FINAL RESULT: The lay of Owen at 3 got matched and he hung in for a tie for 4th.
Overall finished 13.625pts up at the bookies, 9.5 pts up at Betfair (9.025 after commision) for a final total of +22.65pts
Update after round 3:
Owen is still going strong and while Singh looks the likliest winner hopefully he can hang in for a place at least. Going to go for some speculative hedging lays on Owen in case he does get in the final mix-up.
LAY Greg Owen 10pts @3 at Betfair - matched

Update after round 1:
Singh takes a commanding lead and I feel his current odds of a shade above evens are an accurate reflection of his chances.
Greg Owen has made a good start for us on 5 under despite having the harder scoring conditions in the afternoon, so I am somewhat surprised to see him available at as big as 66/1. Clearly the short odds for Singh have inflated a lot of the other prices, but as an e/w bet this is cracking value and just because we have already backed him at the start is no reason to not go back in.
Back Greg Owen 0.5pts e/w @66/1 at Betinternet (4 places)

For once I'm actually struggling to find a whole lot of value! Just going to go for a few outsiders to start with and then see if there's any value to be found as the tournament progresses.
Back Brandt Jobe to finish in the top5 0.75pts @33/1 at GolfingGods
In the playoff at the BellSouth and was in good shape at the Heritage last week before a final round 77 saw him fall away. He is long off the tee, which is important on this lengthy course and made the cut here last year.
Back Ryuji Imada to finish in the top5 0.5pts @62.5/1 at Centrebet/SuperOdds
Back Ryuji Imada to win 0.25pts @350 at Betfair
Another player's who's shown good recent form, with a 15th place finish at the rain-shortened BellSouth. Not massive off the tee, but still towards the top end of the field in driving distance. In his last two events in Texas on the Nationwide tour he finshed 10th and 4th.
Back John Senden to finish in the top5 0.5pts @37.5/1 at Centrebet/SuperOdds
Back John Senden to win 0.25pts @320 at Betfair
Ranked 17th on tour for total driving, he has played solidly, although not spectacularly, this season. Has a decent record in Texas.
Back Greg Owen 0.5pts e/w @100/1 at William Hill
Another who ranks well in total driving. Backed him last week and he did reasonably well so prepared to stick with him this week at similar odds.
Another I backed last week was Loren Roberts and I've given him serious consideration here as he has always done well in Texas, but I just feel that this course will prove too long for the man ranked 178th out of 182 on tour for driving distance.
