PGA Championship

Finishing Positions (0.5 pt stakes). Some times it just doesn't go your way and this was one of those weeks. Campbell continues to cost us money but that's Spread Betting. The prices were value for him over the last few weeks and for the four players we traded this week.

Pre Round Three Trades.

Buy Tiger Woods at 25 with Sporting Index
Basically, the price is so as with Tiger scraping into the last round and being hailed a hero by TV commentary for doing so, Sporting will expect a flood of sellers at whatever price. Scrape away the plaudits (surely they should have gone to Mickelson) and we are talking about a player who is struggling at +4. Even at his known best an average price to suit sellers and buyers would be in the low to mid 30s. *Note - I am out all day hence the early message with only one firm pricing up. You may get lower elsewhere but for P&L purposes our figures will be taken on the above price.

Pre Round Two Trades.

Buy Trevor Immelman at 26 with Sporting Index
17 players are separated at the top by a stroke and with Immelman out later today he could be swallowed up on the leaderboard if he shoots par or worse.

Pre Round One Trades.

Buy Sergio Garcia at 24 with Sporting Index
Sergio is probably one of the more likely winners of this event but every player has his price and 24 is too low for Garcia in this field. In great form with finishes of 1/3/22/5 in his last four events, he still should be quoted around 26 like he is elsewhere.

Buy Michael Campbell at 34 with Sporting Index
A glutton for punishment but Campbell's price is still too low at 34 with Sporting with a good quality field in the last major of the year. 14th in the Deutsche Bank two weeks ago after leading on day one followed a Top 5 at St Andrews and a 25th at the K Club. He is certainly in form but just because he is a far more accomplished player of late does not mean his overall average is going to reduce to the numbers he is currently being quoted at.
