Tournament Trades

Buy David Toms FP at 25.8 with
Cantor Spreadfair for 0.6 Pts M/U 50, Profit 13.9 Pts
Toms is having a steady year by his standards with a win in Hawaii and 4 further top 10's including an 8th place a couple of weeks back in the WGC. His poor weeks have been few and far between with only 4 missed cuts in 18 starts and an average FP of just over the buy price this week at 27. A fair estimate of his price would be 27/28 but with the Ryder Cup a week away he may just slacken off if not in contention which would be beneficial to FP buyers.

Buy Robert Allenby FP at 25 with Spreadex for 0.6 Pts M/U 23.5, Loss 0.9 Pts
An FP average here of 30 is one of the few positive reasons I can give this week for opposing a player who has cost us regularly this year, but I am a firm believer in continuing to oppose a player whose price is too low. Allenby has made his last 8 cuts since Memorial with a 30th place in Chicago his worst result of the 8 but 25 is very low in what isn't the worst field he will line up in this year.

Buy Chris Di'Marco FP at 28 with
Spreadex for 0.6 Pts M/U 40.5, Profit 7.5 Pts
With a week to go to the Ryder Cup, we are opposing two of the US team this week, with Di'Marco opposed at a fairly low price that he has beaten only twice in his last ten starts. If you take away Di'Marco's results in majors this past three months his record is 52/42/cut/cut/cut/27 and with those results in mind, even three Top 10's in a row on this course suggest he should be opposed with a bigger event to play next week. He is on record as saying that representing his country is his greatest achievement so the Ryder Cup must surely be at the forefront of his thoughts.

Buy Steve Stricker FP at 30 with
Spreadex for 0.6 Pts M/U 11, Loss 11.4 Pts
28th and 36th are Stricker's results here and although the Stricker of 2006 is a far more accomplished player, his price reflects this. Three Top 10's in a row coming into this week contribute to an average 2006 FP of only 27 but adding in the course form and the quality of field which isn't too bad means he should possibly be a couple of points higher.

Buy Nathan Green FP at 33.5 (spread free) with
Spreadex for 0.6 Pts M/U 50, Profit 9.9 Pts
Not the greatest bet at 35 but with the spread free offer from Spreadex we can trade at a fair price of 33.5 on a player who in 25 starts has only beaten the quote 9 times. His results are strange with 7 Top 15 places but only 4 finishes between 15th and 45th and a fairly large max m/u % of 60%. Couple these stats with this being his debut on the course and 33.5 is value.

Buy Jonathan Byrd FP at 28.4 with Cantor Spreadfair
for 0.6 Pts M/U 50, Profit 12.3 Pts
Similar course form to Di'Marco with three high finishes but with a seasonal average of 34 and more than 50% of maximum 50 M/U's, 28 is too low even allowing for all the positives that can be put up in support of Byrd this week. With the accumulated prices we are buying 6 players at a less than 29 average which is good value indeed.

Round One Trades

Sell Camilo Villegas over Billy Mayfair 18H MB at 3 with
Spreadex for 0.3 Pts. M/U 19, Loss 4.8 Pts
Head to head's this year show a 10-9 tournament lead, a 11-7 R1 lead and a 27-21 "all rounds" lead for Mayfair. It is possibly because Villegas is popular with some tipsters this week that the price is so high with Spreadex possibly expecting more interest on the buy side. A fair price would be 0-3 as their most recent form where Mayfair has missed his last two cuts whilst the Colombian finished 5th last week.

Sell Chris Di'Marco over Heath Slocum 18H MB at 5 with Sporting Index for 0.3 Pts. M/U 13, Loss 2.4 Pts
Not particularly keen to oppose Di'Marco over two markets but this price is too high. It's 7-6 in tournaments, 6-5 in R1 matches and 17-15 in all rounds to the Ryder Cup player which suggests that 5 is a bit high especially with Slocum improving a little having made the weekend with ease in his last two events after a run of three missed cuts.
