Final result: 9-7, +5.46pts
adding round 4: Back Jason Bohn against Lucas Glover and Ben Curtis to win 3pts @3.6 William Hill - lost Simply this price looks far too big. How they can make Bohn outsider of the three is beyond me. ---------------------------------------------
adding round 4: Back Fred Funk to beat Bubba Dickerson to win 1pt @1.952 at FiveDimes - won The phrase about swallows and summer comes to mind with Dickerson - yes he is a former US amatuer champion but he hasn't really done anything yet since qualifying for the PGA Tour and may be getting a bit anxious already with regards to keeping his card. Funk has seen it all before and should go out playing his usual relaxed game. I'm not worried about his lack of length - he's longer than Pavin at least!
round 4: Back Corey Pavin to beat Ben Curtis to win 1.75pts @2.03 at Pinnacle -won I can't see how Pavin is outsider here. In the last year Pavin leads 20-13 in round head to heads, 3-1 in round 4. I think he should be a pretty strong favourite to win this one. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ adding round 3: Back Corey Pavin against Chad Campbell and Harrison Frazar to win 2pts @4.0 at SportingOdds, SkyBet - won This is one of the few courses left where the very short hitters like Pavin can still be competitive. He finished high up the leaderboard here last year and is going well again. This price looks too big in this 3 ball. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- round 3: Back Vijay Singh to beat Tiger Woods to win 1.25pts @2.57 at Pinnacle - won Continuing the opposition of Woods as he just doesn't seem to have found the gear stick this week. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- round 2: Back Ernie Els to beat Tiger Woods to win 1.75pts @2.69 at Pinnacle - lost Woods didn't exactly convince yesterday, while Els appears to be continuing his recovery from injury (peaking in time for the Masters?). A nice price to get on someone who won this match by 3 shots yesterday! Back Henrik Bjornstad to beat Camilo Villegas to win 1.5pts @2.25 at Pinnacle - lost Back Rod Pampling to beat Ian Poulter to win 1.25pts @2.03 at Pinnacle -won (by 17 strokes!!) Repeat of yesterday's plays - strangely we can get bigger odds on Pampling than yesterday even though he won the match by 2 shots?! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ round 1: Back Sergio Garcia to beat Tiger Woods to win 1pt @3.05 at FiveDimes -won Back Vijay Singh to beat Tiger Woods to win 1.5pts @2.73 at FiveDimes - lost Back Kirk Triplett against Tiger Woods and Wes short to win 1.5pts @4.5 at Totesport - lost Opposing Woods here partly on the grounds that I expect driving to be important this week and I still think that he is not driving the ball well. He hasn't excelled in this event for the past two years and that can maybe be attributed to the decline in his driving. These are big prices on class acts like Garcia and Singh over only 18 holes. Triplett won on his last start so couldn't be in any better form and has a good record in this event. Back Henrik Bjornstad to beat Camilo Villegas to win 1.5pts @2.32 at Pinnacle - tie(void) The hype machine on the young Columbian 'heart-throb' has gone in to overdrive leading to prices like this. Bjornstad's start to his PGA tour career has been just as good - bourne out by his 11-10 lead in head to head rounds this year. Back Jim Furyk to beat Chad Campbell to win 1pt @1.952 at FiveDimes - lost Back Lee Westwood to beat Tom Lehman to win 1.25pts @2.15 at FiveDimes - won Back Rod Pampling to beat Ian Poulter to win 1pt @2.0 at Pinnacle - won Back Steve Jones against Vijay Singh and Brad Faxon to win 2.5pts @7.0 at Totesport - dead heat with Singh Back Mark Brooks against David Duval and Retief Goosen to win 3pts @6.4 at Totesport - lost |
