Summary: Bets 5, Wins 3, Losses 2. Profit 14.4 Pts Tournament Trades Buy Zach Johnson FP at 28 with IG Sport for 0.6 Pts
M/U 25.5, Loss 1.5 Pts
The field this week is as poor as last and has a "20/1 the field" quote from the fixed odds firms confirming the difficulty in finding the winner. Johnson is one of those on 20/1 which in turn has lead to a low FP quote. Although he is obviously a contender, FP betting is about averages and this makes 28 a justifiable trade in this company. He has missed 3 of his last 6 cuts but is being priced low more on a recent 2nd and a 3rd on his first appearance here two years ago. His long term average on tour is over 34 and he has missed over 1 in 4 of cuts in his time on tour. Buy Tom Pernice FP at 33 with Spreadex for 0.6 Pts
M/U 50, Profit 10.2 Pts
Pernice is having a good season with four Top 10's so far although interspersed with these results are 7 missed cuts in 18 starts. His record round River Highlands is below average although he did finish 3rd in 04'. Other finishes though in 8 starts add up to an average finish of over 34. Buy Stewart Cink FP at 27 with IG Sport for 0.6 Pts M/U 6.5, Loss 12.3 Pts Cink has a poor record here recently after a run from 97 to 2000 of 1/2/8/14. Since then he has failed to record a Top 20 in three subsequent starts and this led to him missing the event the last two years. He is back this week to try again and is in ok form if not spectacular with a seasonal average FP of 30. Round One Trades Sell Trevor Immelman over Harrison Frazar 18H MB at 10 with IG Sport for 0.3 Pts
M/U -25, Profit 10.5 Pts
Frazar has done nothing in months and has done nothing on this course whereas Immleman is in the form of his life. All of this though has been factored too heavily into IG's quote. Remember that this is 18 holes of golf and even allowing for form, there isn't a difference in the abilities of these two players that equals a 10-13 quote. H2H's show a 7-5 lead for Frazar in R1 scoring and an 8-8 tie in tournament results in the last 18 months and accepting that Immleman should win this, we should look beyond all the form and accept that 10 is a good price. Sell Ben Curtis over Scott Verplank 18H MB at 0 with Sporting Index for 0.3 Pts M/U -25, Profit 7.5 Pts Verplank leads Curtis 21-2 in tournaments and 51-15 in all rounds since January 2005 and Curtis becomes favourite by virtue of a good week last week when he won the Booz Allen. at best, that should take what would have been a 3 to 4 pt price in Verplanks' favour down to 1-4 at most. |
