1-4, -0.96pts
round 4 3balls: Back Marco Dawson against Jason Gore and Ted Purdy to win 2pts @3.5 at William Hill, Ladbrokes - lost Going back in on Dawson for a third time, and opposing Gore again.
round 2 3balls: Back Omar Uresti against Bob Tway and Alex Cejka to win 2pts @4.0 at Betfred, BetDirect, SportingOdds - lost Uresti played the best tee to green of these three yesterday, he just couldn't hole a putt, while Bob Tway was holing everything. A reversal in the putting fortunes for Uresti should see him have a good chance to take this at big odds. Back Marco Dawson against John Rollins and Skip Kendall to win 2pts @4.0 at Betfred, BetDirect, SportingOdds - won Dawson lost this yesterday, but I think did enough to merit having another go at it today, even if we aren't getting as big a price. Back Steve Jones against Jason Gore and Brent Geiberger to win 1.5pts @3.5 at BetInternet - lost Not convinced Gore has recaptured his form just on the basis of yesterday's round. His 4 under score was largely due to holing a lot of putts. Jones' play yesterday was solid enough and back in his prime he had a good record on this course. -------------------------------------------
Looks like this event will be pushed in to the background with the Matchplay on. No 2balls from Pinnacle or Expekt for the 1st round is a bit of a shame. Anyway, one 3 ball bet takes my fancy: Back Marco Dawson against John Rollins and Skip Kendall to win 3pts @4.35 at Expekt - lost Dawson's course form is a worry, but he really is a very consistent player - his missed cut at Pebble Beach was his first in a LONG time. Kendall on the other hand rarely makes a cut, and for him to be 2nd favourite in this 3 ball is baffling to me. Rollins is of course flavour of the week - going off at an incredibly short price in the outright market. I think that has been translated in to a very short price in this 3 ball, with Dawson the clear value to oppose him with. |
