Justin Rose to beat Shigeki Maruyama                -110 Ladbrokes
Two players in fine form at the moment. But where Rose has a good record at holding his form,
Maruyama doesn't and it can go as quickly as it appeared. Rose's all round in game is impressive
at the moment and from comparing the stats over recent events Rose is outperforming Maruyama
in nearly all criteria. Maruyama admittedly has the most impressive form of any player in this event
with a second place last year and winning in 2003 but he did miss the cut here in 2001 when in
good form so a good display here is no certainty. Also Rose put in a very decent showing here last
time to finish 6th, when he again nerves got the better of him and he couldn't put in that respectable
4th round to take the title. I'm again going with the more consistent player, in fine form and good
course form.

Jonathan Byrd to beat Carl Pettersson                 +100 Carib
Byrd has been struggling with a rib injury for most of the year but since his last withdrawl back in
July he has made three cuts from four and a couple of top-20 finishes. In his previous starts here
he has hit sub 70 on 50% of his rounds and has a third and fifth place finish from four starts. He is
a generally excellent putter with good current and course form who will still be fresh at this late
stage of the season. Pettersson on the other hand has had a long hard, albeit successful season.
He performed well here last time out after a couple of disappointing efforts. However this is a very
short price for a player who hasn't made the cut in a PGA tour event since July.

Bernhard Langer to beat Jeff Sluman                    -110 Stan James
Langer won for us last week and we'll back him to follow up again. His recent form has been
impressive with a number of decent low rounds and three good finishes. In particular his recent
putting stats have been particularly impressive. Although he only finished 57th here back in 2003
he did open with a round of 69 and close with a round of 67 so he is well capable of hitting the
low rounds required to keep him in contention in this event. Again we are going to favour Langer
over a more inconsistent player, this time in the shape of Sluman. His recent form has largely
consisted of finishes in the top 10 or outside the top 50. He has played this course a number of
times but has only managed four sub 70 rounds from 23.

Chris Riley to beat Steve Flesch                             +109 Pinnacle
There is no doubting that Flesch is the better player based on overall form and consistency. But
Riley has shown a similar level of form and consistency in recent events. Flesch has very poor
previous form in this event with three missed cuts from four starts and never breaking 70. Although
Riley has two previous missed cuts from four starts he has also decent finishes of 25th and a 14th
place finish last season. One area where Riley does excel over Flesch is in putting. Riley's putting
average in his most recent starts has been 1.63/1.64/1.56/1.6/1.67. Flesch on the other hand has
only managed an average of less than 1.7 in 2 of his last 20 starts. With the wide fairways and big
greens of this course this tournament could end up being a putting contest which could then
present this as a very generous price.
