Tournament Trades.

Buy Darren Clarke FP at 28.2 with Cantor Spreadfair for 0.6 Pts M/U 50, Profit 12.43 Pts

2nd here last year although a horrendous R4 seen him lose a good chance to post a win on this tour. In other visits Clarke has finished 45th, 35th and 11th.  In 21 full field events since the start of 2004, Darren has missed 7 cuts and finished top 20 eleven times so on those stats we should expect a price of around 30-31 but we get to trade a value price in the 20’s.

Buy Rod Pampling FP at 29.8 with Cantor Spreadfair for 0.6 Pts M/U 42, Profit 6.95 Pts

Another player with excellent course form, but I feel it has been factored into the price. 10th, 16th and 6th in the last three years follows two missed cuts before and with a recent win on tour, Pampling will be a confident pick of many this week. His average in full field events since the start of last year is over 33 so allowing for the good form shown here, we still should trade at this price, although not any higher.

Buy Jose Maria Olazabal FP at 26.6 with Cantor Spreadfair for 0.6 Pts M/U 50, Profit 13.34 Pts

Another opposition of a popular player who, unfortunately for us, shot very low in R4 of the Masters to finish Top 5. This followed Top 10’s at both the Bellsouth and the Players Championship. It is very difficult though to have successful runs that go past three weeks and Olly certainly hasn’t managed this on this tour since 2002. Of course his good form has been factored into a fairly low quote.

Buy Carl Pettersson FP at 32 with IG Sport for 0.6 Pts M/U 50, Profit 10.8 Pts

An outright tip from Stanley on a player who has been a model of consistency since his win in October. Since then he has average finishes a full 10 place lower than his previous form on tour but of course prices are changing to reflect this and we should trade at this offer. He has a 3rd here coupled with a cut miss and a 69th place finish.

Buy Bo Van Pelt FP at 34 with IG Sport for 0.6 Pts M/U 50, Profit 9.6 Pts

A first visit to Harbour town for Van Pelt and although he has been fairly consistent recently, he could be worth opposing as he gets used to the tricky style of this layout. In 10 events this year so far he has posted 4 top 20’s which is a good return but with no familiarity to this course he may struggle to repeat his recent form.

Buy Robert Allenby FP at 32 with IG Sport for 0.6 Pts WD M/U 50, Profit 10.8 Pts

75th is the best Allenby has to offer here in three attempts so unlike some of the other advices we don’t have the worry of good course form to trouble us. A 4th at Bay Hill is the only real high point on his 2006 season with a steady week at Augusta, without ever contending, his latest effort.

Buy Camilo Villegas FP at 32 with IG Sport for 0.6 Pts M/U 50, Profit 10.8 Pts

Another low price on a player who when he gets in contention can stay in the hunt, 2nd and 3rd in March and 2nd in Phoenix previously shows some promise. However, in the six other events he has played his best finish is 31st and that possibly suggests that his effort level drops when down the field. This may or may not be true as of course it is in his best interests to make as much money as possible for all the privileges that this brings but it is noticeable that he has no finishes from 4th to 30th in 9 starts. Like Bo Van Pelt he may suffer from lack of course experience this week.

Round One Trades

Sell Camilo Villegas over Duff Waldorf at 5.4 with Cantor Spreadfair for 0.3 Pts M/U -25, Profit 8.66 Pts

Sell Camilo Villegas over Hidemichi Tanaka at 9 with IG Sport for 0.3 Pts M/U 13, Loss 1.2 Pts

We have a triple play against the young Colombian this week which isn’t something I would normally recommend but the prices are just too good to ignore. Waldorf finished 38th in his previous visit here and recent form includes making the cut in his last 4 events with a 3rd place in Tucson the highlight of that run. Tanaka has really struggled of late and in his only appearance here a R4 81 took him to near last. However both prices are just too high.
