Buy Mike Weir FP at 30 with Sporting Index for 0.6 Pts M/U 8, Loss 13.2 Pts

Weir is priced at 26-29 with IG and Spreadex so the fact you are only giving up a point to have the opportunity of the big M/U on the extended scoring system is value in itself (if the other prices are correct). I believe they are and that this week Weir may struggle on this layout. The new Redstone course being used is nearly 7500 yards long and has been set up in a way to appeal to all types, the par 5’s are long enough that everyone could be taking 3 shots to reach and there are a couple of very short par 4’s to offer risk/reward options to the players. With every player being new to the course and it appealing to everyone the quote for Weir is a few points too low. On current form, Weir is doing ok and has beaten this number 5 times in 8 events this year but his average FP is still above the 30 on offer here. We have no course form to go on obviously but in events played in Texas, Weir has played 10 times this century with an 8th and 11th the only bright spots as his best other finish is T36 with all other finishes being outside the top 50.

Buy Vaughn Taylor FP at 42 with Sporting Index for 0.6 Pts M/U 83, Profit 24.6 Pts
Another play at Sporting where the 42 appeals more than the 34 offered elsewhere. In 9 full field events this year Taylor has posted two Top 10’s and has missed 4 cuts. His average on this scoring system is approx: 50 so in an event on a first time course 42 seems fair. Texas form, where the wind can play a factor, sees Taylor average higher at approx: 56.

Round One Trades

Sell Lucas Glover over Phil Tataurangi 18H MB at 11 with Sporting Index for 0.3 Pts M/U 16, Loss 1.5 Pts
Glover really should win this with ease but its another case of the price just being too high and that over the long term you would pick up enough wins on the underdog to cover the majority of losses that you will incur.

Sell Mike Weir over Woody Austin 18H MB at 6 with Sporting Index for 0.3 Pts M/U 19, Loss 3.9 Pts
Reasons for opposing Weir documented above but we need sufficient reasons for the opponent at the price offered. 17th last week was a return to some form for Austin after a really poor start to the season but generally this bet is advised as the price should be a little lower. A 29-24-5 head to head on all rounds played since the start of 05’ suggests this.
