Retief Goosen to beat Phil Mickelson +130 @ Pinnacle
I find it difficult to separate Goosen and Mickelson this week. Mickelson is the better player but motivation outside
of the majors is always a worry. Both have excellent records here although preference goes to Goosen who has the
better recent record. Goosen also has the better current record with recent finishes of 34-14-14-4. With Mickelson it is always difficult to accurately predict prices for match-ups but I would have this close to shared favouritism.
Retief Goosen to beat Sergio Garcia -110 @ BetInternet Goosen leads the h2h's 7-4 this season and has won both times on this course. He is the better player, but not by much, he is in excellent form and has by far the better record here. Garcia has being playing well recently and even performed with great credit in Germany after the Open. But Goosen really should be favourite here and at odds of around -130.
Davis Love to beat David Howell +110 @ FiveDimes Tom Pernice Jnr to beat David Howell -105 @ FiveDimes I dislike having double plays but I had so many options in which to oppose Howell here. Course form plays more of a role here due to the altitude. So good previous course form is preferred and Pernice and Love both have that. Howell on the other hand has the worst kind of attribute, no experience of the course. Howell has also been tinkering around with his swing which has probably contributed to his missing the cut in his last two starts. We have opposed him with two players trying to guarantee their place in the US Ryder Cup team with strong course form. Jose Maria Olazabal to beat Arron Oberholser -110 @ BetFred Since returning from a month long break after the US Open Oberholser has missed the cut in the Open and last week
he put in another disappointing showing finishing 67th. His previous record here does not inspire confidence either with
a 34th place finish and a missed cut last year. Olazabal has three top-20 finishes here, is the better player and has
shown decent consistency all year. I make Olazabal a -125 shot.
Justin Rose to beat Greg Owen -110 @ BetFred
Both players are back in action after a break. The h2h's give Rose a clear superiority (12 mths:12-4-1, 3 mths: 3-0-0)
and while Owen managed a 51st place finish in his only start here Rose has two decent finishes of 19th and 23rd. Both
players are hardly the most consistent players around but -110 hardly seems a fair price given Roses's overall and course
superiority and I make him a -125 shot.
Camilo Villegas to beat Charley Hoffman -120 @ Stan James
Villegas seems to be coming back into form again after a mid-season slump and it could pay to side with him over the
coming tournaments. Although neither player has played this course it should favour Villegas naturally aggressive game.
Trawling through all the stats he is confortably in the lead in the vast majority of them and lathough the h2h's point in
the favour of Hoffman I can see Villegas relishing this event and if he retains his form from last time out he could go very
close this week to winning and I have him at -145 for this match-up.
