Tournament Trades

Buy Mike Weir FP at 33 with Spreadex for 0.6 Pts. M/U 45.5, Profit 7.5 Pts
Weir has a very up and down record in this event with three top 3's sitting alongside 3 missed cuts in 8 starts. His recent form is average after a sustained run from the start of the season where he posted 5 top 20s in 9 events through to Houston in April. Since then, a 6th in the US Open is the best effort in 5 starts where he had failed to beat this weeks quote in the previous 4. The field is of sufficient quality this week to recommend a bet at 33, although no higher.

Buy Adam Scott FP at 28 with
Spreadex for 0.6 Pts. M/U 25, Loss 1.8 Pts
Scott makes his debut on this course and although he has solid form this year, the field quality suggests 28 is low. He has beaten this mark in seven of his 10 PGA starts this year averaging 20 but in the events he played where the field was as strong as this he finished 53rd (Players), 27th (Masters) and 21st (US Open).

Round One Trades

Sell Trevor Immelman over Steve Lowery at 6 with Sporting Index  for 0.3 Pts M/U 16, Loss 3 Pts
This pair are tied on 8-8 in R1 scores recently and like the matchup following the favourite seems to perform better as the week goes on. Lowery has been 2nd and 3rd here although admittedly he has had a fair few missed cuts as well. He does play every year though, whereas this is Immelman's debut. Immelman of course is in excellent form currently but 6 seems a little bit of an over estimation of his chances in this match.

Sell Tim Clark over Lee Janzen at 9 with
Sporting Index  for 0.3 Pts M/U 19, Loss 3 Pts
Janzen seems to perform a little better in R1 and fades going by his h2h's with Clark. The South African only leads 14-9 in R1 matches even although he has won 23 of the 28 matches they have played together in the last 18 months. Never better than 43rd in two starts here, Clark is the underdog on course form alone where his opponent has two Top 10s, and only two missed cuts in seven starts.

Sell Woody Austin over Carlos Franco at 3 with
Sporting Index  for 0.3 Pts M/U 13, Loss 3 Pts
Franco leads Austin 17-11 in matches and 14-12 in R1 scoring so it seems strange that the quote is as heavily in favour of Austin. Austin hasn't beaten 60th in 6 attempts this century at Cog Hill so is obviously being priced solely on last weeks' 2nd at the Buick. Franco has missed 4 of his last 5 cuts but has fair form here with two Top 25's in four starts.

Sell J. B. Holmes over John Daly at 5.4 with Cantor Spreadfair for 0.3 Pts Holmes N/R
The battle of the big hitters, and Holmes is in no way is a 5+ pts favourite over Daly. In all rounds played together there is a small 9-8 lead for Holmes but as both players are guilty of high scores you have to examine their worst scores this year. For Holmes we have a 84, 83 and 80 since early May. Daly responds with a 79 at Augusta and an 80 at the Memorial as his season's worst
This could M/U at anything but the value is in the large start to get with Daly.
