Spread Betting News (Sporting Index)

Summary: 6 Bets, 4 Wins, 2 Losses. Profit 29.7 Pts. After a poor run that ate into the early 2007 profits, we have recouped some of those losses this week.

Bet 1 - Sell Niclas Fasth over Charles Warren 18H MB at -0.5 with Cantor Spreadfair for 0.3 Pts M/U 0, Loss 0.15 Pts
We have regularly opposed Fasth in America and will do so tomorrow, especially as he is considered slight favourite over a player who has made 8 of 13 cuts this year and finished 6th in the "Hope" and 18th in Phoenix. Not earth shattering stats but is compared to Fasth's 75% cut miss record in two years including missing the cut on this course. In 4 rounds here Fasth's best score is 73, Warren has finished 10th and 24th in the same period with an average score in those 7 rounds of 70.3

Bet 2 - Sell Niclas Fasth over Joe Ogilvie 18H MB at 1 with Sporting Index for 0.3 Pts. M/U -25, Profit 7.8 Pts
Here we have a start of 1 pt to oppose Fasth which has to be taken. Ogilvie, like Warren, hasn't exactly been tearing up the Fedex Cup points table and has missed his last two cuts but he is still a better player, on this tour, than Fasth. Even a missed cut scoring 79/73 last week still beat Fasth by 2.

Bet 3 - Buy J.J. Henry FP at 39 with IG Sport for 0.6 Pts. M/U 58, Profit 11.4 Pts
Henry has a good record round here with two top 10's in 6 starts, his average overall though is equal to the buy price this week and although the field isn't as good as in previous years I think it's a price worth taking. Henry in 2007 has not performed to the high level of 2006 that seen him make the Ryder Cup team. He hasn't missed many cuts, only 3 in 10 full field events but he did miss last weekend and has only beaten 20th place twice since Hawaii at the very start of the year.

R2

Bet 4 -
Sell Niclas Fasth over Charles Warren 18H MB at -1.5 with Sporting Index for 0.3 Pts. M/U -37, Profit 10.65 Pts
No reason not to go in again after yesterday's tie.

Bet 5 - Sell Kevin Sutherland over Brett Quigley 18H MB at 0 with Sporting Index for 0.3 Pts. M/U 19, Loss 5.7 Pts
Sutherland shot the round of the day yesterday and subsequently is now value to oppose at 0 with Sporting.  H2H's show a 11-7 tournament lead for Quigley who shot 70 yesterday and a 10-6-3 R2 lead.

Bet 6 - Sell Jason Gore over Heath Slocum 18H MB at 0 with Sporting Index for 0.3 Pts. M/U -19, Profit 5.7 Pts
70 beat 73 yesterday hence the fact Gore is favourite. However, R2 scoring sees Slocum prevail in 12 of 17 rounds with one tie and Slocum wins overall 12-8 over the last year. slocum has to come out and shoot a good score today to survive to the weekend and that in itself makes this play dangerous but taking that into account, it is still a fair trade off of 0.
