Matchup bets:
Stake 3pts Jose Maria Olazabal to beat Stuart Appleby +105 @ Pinnacle Olazabal has decent enough recent form, a game that relies on accuracy and although hardly impressive previous
form here he did finish 7th in 2002. Given that Appleby has shown very little this season, has 8 finishes outside the
top 50 from eleven previous starts here and in the last 12 months Olazabal leads Appleby 9-3 in all h2h's I don't
believe he merits being such a strong favourite.
Stake 3pts Zach Johnson to beat John Rollins -110 @ Centrebet
Rollins has been in good form of late but he has a poor record in Florida and he played here back in 2002, missed
the cut and hasn't appeared here since. Johnson has two top 10 finishes from three starts here, decent current form
and for a course that should reward accuracy off the tee Johnson's game is ideal (His recent DA stats are regularly
over 75%). With a twelve month h2h record of 12-4 over Rollins I make him a strong favourite here.
Stake 2pts Phil Mickelson to beat Tiger Woods +265 @ Pinnacle
A play purely because this price is verging on the ridiculous. The angle here is that Woods, although winning this event
on four consecutive starts between 2000 and 2003, has subsequently finished 46th, 23rd and 20th here. So despite his
superb record of late there is the possibility of a finish outside the places. And in the last three years on the tour, when
Tiger has finished outside the top 4 his record against Mickelson reads won 1 lost 12, that win for Tiger coming back
in the 2003 US Open. Woods's deteriorating record here seems to have coincided with his increased focus on the
majors and if his focus is more on preparation for the Masters this week then Mickelson could easily take this.
