Matchup plays:

Stake 5pts    David Toms to beat Trevor Immelman                             +100 @ Bet365
Immelman has had a couple of decent finishes this season but has largely been a disappointment. He has a good
record in Texas but has never played The Colonial before. Which makes it all the more surprising to see him as
favourite here, especially with The Colonial being such a unique course for the Tour. Toms has also been
slightly disappointing this season but he has shown glimpses of his old form of late. However, one thing he does
have over Immelman is excellent course form in the shape of four top ten finishes in his last six starts. If he again
shows anything resembling that sort of course form then Immelman is going to have great difficulty beating him on
his course debut.

Stake 2pts    Bo Van Pelt to beat Jerry Kelly                                        +107 @ Expekt
With Kelly having shown some fine form of late and having the necessary accurate driving game to go close this
week it may seem foolish to oppose him but every play has a price. Van Pelt's good recent form has tailed off in
his last two starts but back on a course where he has a very decent record with previous finishes of 5-17-12 he
could easily recapture that form which netted him six recent top-30 finishes in a row. Kelly finished 12th here last
season but in general has a mixed record here and his last two finishes showed something of a deterioration in form.

Stake 3pts    Anthony Kim to beat Carl Pettersson                               +100 @ Stan James
Only a lack of course experience prevents me staking more on Kim here. Although slightly erratic scoring at times
he has shown great maturity on his debut season coupled with some incredible stats. Although he has no course
experience he has the type of accurate game that is of value on this course. Pettersson's favouritism here is likely
down to his good recent form with four consecutive top 30 finishes. But he has a very poor record here with
finishes of 28-54-mc-mc and this is not surprising. The Colonial requires an accurate, strategic game but Pettersson
has such an aggresive game that it really isn't suited to the challenge posed here.

Stake 2pts    John Senden to beat John Rollins                                     -111 @ Expekt
Two players with similar types of game and with similar recent form (Senden leads Rollins 5-3 in the h2h's over the
past six months). But given the previous course expereince of the two players I would expect to see Senden as clear
favourite here. Senden's previous finishes here are 21-9-38-45, a respectable record for a player of his ability. Rollins
previous record here reads 48-mc-mc-mc.
