Stake 3pts Elkington to beat Byrd +100 @ Sportingbet
I've got Elkington at 1.8 for this matchup. Both players are very similar in terms of overall form and their course form is very similar too. Byrd finished 3rd here in 2006 but prior to that had three mc's and a 62ndn place finish. Elk has shown little form here recently but has previously acheived three top 20 finishes. However although Byrd has shown some decent form recently it's not a patch on Elkington with finishes of 5-13-4 and some impressive accuracy stats to boot. Elkington (mc) beaten by Byrd

Stake 2pts Mallinger to beat Hoffman -105 @ Pinnacle
Hoffman is always a nice player to oppose in match bets as he shows little in terms of consistency and he either misses the cut or has a decent finish. He started off the season well but that form has tailed off (just as it did last season) and he has missed the cut in his last two starts. Mallinger's game has improved significantly over the past 6 months and he has only missed one cut in his last 14 starts. Coupled with a 3rd place finish here last season there is every reason to expect a decent showing from him again this week. Mallinger beat Hoffman (mc)

Stake 2pts Mahan to beat Perez -110 @ Stan James
Mahan is hardly the greatest putter around but even he must have been disappointed with performance on the greensn last week. And this was the primary factor in Mahan missing the cut despite hitting over 80% of greens in regulation. His exceptional form in the second half of last season looks set to continue and with some decent previous form here in the past he should go well again if the putting doesn't dessert him. Perez was at his inconsistent best again last week, starting off superbly and then tailing off badly once he had made the cut. I believe that Mahan is the better player, is in better form, has more consistency and shown more here in the past so deserves to be shorter than he is here. Mahan (mc) beaten by Perez

Stake 3pts Wi to beat Quinney -110 @ Boylesports
Neither player has exactly covered themselves with glory here in the past, Quinney has had three poor finishes and Wi has two. Wi does have the more consistent game though and is in nfar better form at the moment with a couple of good top-20 showings. In terms of h2h's Wi has won 12 out of the last 13 matchups with Quinney and there is little evidence in Quinney's game at the moment to suggest that Wi should not be a lot shorter than these odds. Wi beaten by Quinney by 4

Stake 3pts Weir to beat Singh +100 @ Stan James
Both players have a phenomenal record in this event, in the last 10 years both players have six top 10 finishes. But while the form of Weir still stands up to scrutiny Singh's form looks like it might be on a downward spiral. Weir has won the last four h2h's with Vijay and if he can get the driver working well this week then on a course he clearly loves he is great value at this price to dispose of a below par Singh. Weir beaten by Singh by 6
