Selections this week: -

Brandt Snedeker 1ptew @ 40/1 Paddy Power

Have been following Sneds at the start of the season and then opted not to make him a play last week and he duly snuck into a top 10 finish which could have been a lot better had it not been for a last round 70. Although he did win a tournament last year and has won on the Nationwide I do have slight concerns about him crossing the line. Having said this he is certainly a good solid all round player who should go from strength to strength. Made the cut here last year but do think he is a far more accomplished player and his relaxed attitude is ideal for this format meaning these odds are just too good to pass.

Phil Mickleson 5pt win @ 4/1 Generally available

Not very exciting I know, but he is the defending champion and really had plenty of opportunitites on the back nine last week to seal victory without having to go to a playoff. Really should win this by a handful of shots if he brings anything near his A game with him this week.

Daniel Chopra 1pt ew @ 33/1 Generally available

Has shown good form this season already with a victory in Hawaii and has a great record here with 11-5-16-25 in the last 4 years. Good solid player who seemed to have a few problems on Sunday but think those days are behind him and expect a good performance this week.

Jonathan Byrd 0.5ew @ 50/1 Generally available

Another great up and coming player who was T2 going into the last round last week and was still in until hitting it in the water on 12. Think he has great place claims and is worth following this week.

Davis Love 0.5 ew @ 66/1 Generally available

A speculative play as he has not played competitive golf since September but has won this event twice and is a world class player if has even a slight showing of his top form.

Greg Owen 0.5ew @ 150/1 Ladbrokes, Stanjames

Another speculative play for a player who lost his card last year but did have a good week here last year and I think that knowing he has to perform this week will spur him on.

Bret Rumford 0.5pt @ 14/1 to be top Australian Extrabet

Only 16/1 best price to finish top 10 so think these represent great odds on the Australian who has shown some good form (although has missed the last couple of cuts.) In addition, many of the top Australians have taken the week off so these odds make even more appeal.

Mathais Gronberg 0.5pt @ 28/1 to finish top 10 Skybet

A selection last week and prepared to follow him again this week after his rounds of 77,65. Hopefully he will continue where he left off with the 65!!
