Stake 4pts Allenby to beat Villegas -115 @ BetInternet No course form to go with this week so primarily it's supporting and opposing players based on recent evidence. Allenby hasn't missed a cut since his first start of the season and is currently averaging an FP of 22nd for the 21 events he has played this season. Villegas has had a reasonable season but has equally been rather frustrating. Although he has been impressive in the number of cuts made he's not that great at stringing a number of good finishes together. Last week he finished 4th in the PGA but a lot of that can attributed to a very hot putter and with the greens being tricky this week, and having no experience of the greens, I fancy Allenby to come good as he has done on 10 out 14 common events this season. Allenby beat Villegas (mc)
Stake 2pts Baird to beat Wi -115 @ The Greek After a rocky start to the season Baird has played some excellent golf, particularly of late. He has missed only two cuts all season and his accuracy stats are superb. Although finishing 9th in the PGA last time out (only playing as a late inclusion) there is no guarantee that form will be carried forward as Wi has been inconsistent all season long. He trails significantly to Baird in h2h's this season and Baird should be around the -125 mark here. Baird beat Wi by 4
Stake 3pts Choi to beat Perry -102 @ BetFred Stake 3pts Ogilvy to beat Perry -110 @ Expekt Perry admitted last time out at the PGA that he may have peaked too early this season and was beginning to feel the effects of a long season. He withdrew after round 1 and subsequently took the following week off but as his goal all season long has now been acheived, it does raise questions as to his motivation for the coming weeks, excluding the Ryder Cup. So I'm happy to take him on with Choi and Ogilby, both of which are better players in my eyes, and have the enough current form and consistency to put in a showing that will beat Perry even if he is refreshed from his week off. Stake 2pts Weekly to beat Clark -105 @ The Greek Stake 2pts Weekly to beat Mahan +105 @ Pinnacle I was so impressed with Weekly's game last time out at the PGA, one bad round put paid to his chances but his all round game was very impressive. I fancy that he might do well in this years Fedex Cup and Ryder Cup and will be supporting him until his game indicates otherwise. Clark has not had a great season but did perform well last week on a course that suited his game ideally. But he has not shown any sort of consistency that suggests that he can repeat that form again this week. And as for Mahan, well at the PGA when conditions were very much in his favour his performance was so unforgivably bad that I have no hesitation in opposing him at this price.
