Stake 5pts Goydos to beat Haas -110 @ Unibet
Despite missing the cut last week Goydos performed with credit. There was all the added attention of finishing second in the Players the week before, he encountered the worst of the weather and yet missed the cut by a single shot, hitting over 83% of GIR. That's three consecutive encouraging shows from him, far more encouraging than Haas whose 11th place finish last week was his first cut made in six starts. Haas finished 77th here last season and that is the only time he has made the cut in seven previous starts in Texas.Goydos has rather mixed form here but he has a couple of place finishes and with his game in such good shape at the moment he is a strong fancy here at this price.

Stake 3pts Wagner to beat Hoffman -120 @ Five Dimes
As we've mentioned before with Hoffman this season it is either a top ten finish or a missed cut. And there is evidence to suggest that this week could be a top-ten finish based on Hoffman's good record in Texas (6 top-ten's from 14 starts) but I am going to have to side with current form here. Hoffman currently has made the cut twice from his last 14 starts but more importantly his stats on his latest two failed attempts were lousy. On both occasions his DA never reached above 50% and he averaged at least 2 putts per green. Wagners game is coming together quite nicely at the moment (5 cuts made in his last 6 starts) and that win in Houston has obviously been a great boost to his game. He narrowly missed the cut here last season but his record in the state is decent if a bit inconsistent.

Stake 4pts Quinney to beat Jacobson -110 @ Unibet
Jacobson, usually a model of consistency, has been very hit and miss this season with a number of decent finishes scattered amongst a number of missed cuts. Instead it is Quinney who is showing admirable consistency this season with 1 missed cut from twelve finishes, including an excellent third place finish last time out at the Players. Quinney had a respectable 36th place finish here last season and his short game should be an asset this week. Jacobson has decent previous form here but the evidence suggests that we are not dealing with a player of the same caliber here this season, backed up Quinney leading the h2h's 8-3 so far this season.

Stake 3pts Toms to beat Sabbatini +100 @ Ladbrokes
Sabbatini won this event last season and has a couple more previous top ten finishes here but there is a marked drop in his form this season. Toms also has great from around here a top ten finish on 50% of his starts here and he has the advantage of having his game in solid shape at the moment. This is a great price for someone in top form with proven course form against an out of form opponent, but I'm keep stakes to a sensible level because I get a strange feelinng about Toms as if disaster is just around the corner at any moment and hence I rarely have any confidence backing him. But still, it's a great price.
