Twice a winner here (2003,2005) and a runner up in 2002 so has plenty of course form. He did miss the cut here last year but was struggling a little with injury. That coupled with his current form and providing the disappointment of last week does not take its toll I can see him going all the way this week. Had previously been struggling to put 4 rounds together but showed that he is now back to his best and don't think it will be long until he is back in the winners circle.

S.Ames 1pt ew @ 30/1 BetFred, Skybet

Will side again with Ames this week who has a 3rd and 4th place finish to his credit in this event. Has shown solid form up to now and his 5th place finish in the Players is sure to be a confidence boost for a player who already has plenty of self belief.

A.Kim 1pt ew @ 22/1 Stan James

Played here last year and finished 18th. However he did not have current form of 2,19,1,42 and he is sure to have all the confidence in the world now following his victory. Would have liked slightly larger odds but still think he is worth siding with this week.

R.Sabattini 0.5 ew @ 33/1 general

A liitle bit speculative for a player who has struggled a little of late with the putter but he is very much a player who once he gets going will not look back. Hopefully being defending champion will give him that little extra this week and he can make a spirited defence of his title for a player who is in his home state this week.

B.Baird 0.5 ew @ 66/1 general

Have sided with Baird a few times and he really does not need much more to figure. He has current form of 12,47,17,13,4,11 and think it is only a matter of time before he steps up to the lift the trophy so is definitely worth siding with at these odds. He has made the cut here on his 3 previous visits but has not played this event since 2005 and is a far more accomplished player now than he was then....

J.Quinney 0.5 ew @ 70/1 Bet 365

Again another super consistent player who is worth backing at these odds. Current form of 33,14,49,31,54,3 and although seems to have a little difficulty finishing the job off can be relied upon to give account of himself week in week out.

N.Green 0.75 ew @ 90/1 Bet 365

A little bit speculative again but with course form of 4th and 5th I am hoping for a horses for courses scenario and if he gets any momentum going should figure in the places again.

R.Moore 0.5 ew @ 100/1 BetFred

Again, I have been lured by these odds (only 50s with Ladbrokes) for a player who is a little streaky but does have recent form of 2,mc,27 and has made the cut here is his 2 visits so we may well get a decent run for our money...

M.Dawson 0.25ew @ 200/1 Boylesports

Another speculative play but does have current form of 10,47,6,mc in his last four starts and with his only visit here resulting in a 13th place may well be a player who can build on that.
