Sell Henrik Stenson over Charles Howell R1 18H MB at 4 with Spreadex for 0.25 Pts M/U -16, Profit 5 Pts
Howell has played here once finishing midway but this is once more than Stenson so we have little course form to go on and of course with it being the first event of the year, current form is also sparse. Therefore you can only really research how the two players play fresh in a new year and their head to head results against each other. With regards H2H's Howell leads 7-6 in 2007, they both start ok with Stenson usually starting in the middle east where he has a great record and Howell has three top 5's in the Sony and fair records in other early events. Arguably, therefore, 4-7 is a couple of points too high.

Buy Justin Leonard over George McNeill R1 18H MB at 5 with Sporting Index BetHiLo for 0.25 Pts M/U 13, Profit 2 Pts
A good example of Leonard's 2007 is given when perusing the H2H records of both players last year. They sit at 9-9 for the 18 events played but McNeill won the first 5 events and Leonard the last 3. Certainly, Leonard improved greatly as the year went on. Of course, this is a new year and even accepting that Leonard's recent PGA form includes a win and 2 6th places, it is now over 2 months ago. If we look further into their respective records, Leonard averaged half a stroke less than McNeill last year and has course form of 3 Top 10's in 6 starts and no worse than 19th in what is usually a field of 30-35 players which should help against this debutant. 5 is as high as i'd like to go on this so do not take anything higher.

Please Note !!!

As of next week, Sporting Index will be changing their FP rules to absorb a rule change made by the PGA as per below.

4. Tournament Cuts
The Policy Board also approved a change in the regulation pertaining to the 36-hole cut at tournaments. Currently, the cut following the second round is to the low 70 professionals and ties. Under the new regulation, the cut will continue to be to the low 70 professionals and ties, unless that results in a weekend field size of more than 78 players. Under that circumstance, the cut would be made to the number closest to 70.

To deal with this amendment, Sporting have decided to have a maximum M/U for FP purposes of 70. This will apply over all tours even although the rule only applies to the PGA Tour. This will mean that if 76 players make the cut the M/U of those who don't will be 70. So, basically, the rule is, a player will be deemed to have finished in the exact position that player finished in the field, with the usual allowances for ties, with a maximum make up of 70.

At this point, Spreadex have confirmed they will follow suit but the other firms have not confirmed their intentions yet, but when they do I will update the PGA page for next week's event with the information.
