Sell Trevor Immleman over Ben Crane 18H R1 MB at 1 with Spreadex for 0.25 Pts M/U -16, Profit 4.25 Pts Crane finished 4th at the FBR which was a return to form as injuries had blighted his career now for some time, he only made 9 starts in 07' with a 6 month break between April and October. In 08' however, with the 4th at Phoenix, he has managed 12th at the Bob Hope and but missed the cut at the Buick. This is fair form in comparison to Immelman who in one start in 08' missed the weekend in Phoenix. Crane has poor form here whilst Immelman was 7th on his debut but only 44th the year after, but current form suggests a play on Crane. Sell Charles Howell over Rod Pampling 18H R1 MB at 4 with Spreadex for 0.25 Pts M/U 16, Loss 3.75 Pts 2007 results show a 10-9 R1 lead for Pampling even although Howell has gone on to win 11 of their matches. Course form is a little difficult to work out. Howell has made the cut in all 6 starts, 3 of which were Top 6 finishes, the others well down the field. Pampling has also made all his 3 cuts but never threatened the Top 30 in any. Arguably Howell should be a 2-5 favourite but no higher. Buy Shigeki Maruyama over Andres Romero 18H R1 MB at 1.5 with Spreadex for 0.25 Pts M/U 16, Profit 3.63 Pts Our opposition to Romero on this tour continues with a play at "choice" supporting Maruyama. The Japanese player has a 2nd place here in 04' which is a shining light amongst some poor returns, and even although he has little form this year he faces a player who has missed two cuts from two and can be opposed at the price. R2 Buy Chad Campbell FP at 28 with Sporting Index for 0.5 Pts M/U 12, Loss 8 Pts 6 years in a row Campbell has been coming here and he has mixed results in that time. Two Top 10's are accompanied with a cut miss and 3 finishes outside the Top 30, and in 06' he finished 36th even although he started as well as he has done this week. His 2008 season has been like the usual Chad Campbell season, a few high finishes but a lot of poor weeks as well. At 28 given his afternoon tee time he is worth opposing in such a strong field. Buy Kevin Na FP at 27 with Sporting Index for 0.5 Pts M/U 56.5, Profit 14.75 Pts Two Top 5's so far this season and a few bad weeks, sounds like Chad Campbell. Where they differ though is on course form where Na has nothing here in 4 attempts and, like all the players we are opposing, has a late tee time where, if weather is similar to yesterday, and is certainly forecast to be so, he has an possible deficit of over 2 strokes to find on the early starters. Buy John Rollins FP at 32 with Sporting Index for 0.5 Pts M/U 17.5, Loss 7.25 Pts Cut, 65, 30 suggests Rollins is going in the right direction in 08' but they are still not very impressive results so far in fields poorer than this. He does have good course form though with three Top 20's in five starts although the other 2 were missed weekend's. With a later tee time though he may be a touch too low at 32. Buy Angel Cabrera FP at 31 with Sporting Index for 0.5 Pts M/U 33, Profit 1 Pt Cabrera is a bit of an enigma who can throw in a big score occasionally and with course form showing an average MU in the mid 40s and 2008 form showing finishes of 15th in the reduced field Mercedes and missing the Sony cut there is nothing to suggest he is a man in form either recently or at the venue. Like the other three he starts late and the field may have bunched up by close of play tonight. Bets: 7, Wins 4, Losses 3, P&L +4.63 |
