Brandt Snedeker to beat Hunter Mahan -110 @ Five Dimes WON (Mahan withdrew after 2 holes)
Tom Lehman to beat Fred Funk -103 @ Pinnacle [also available at WSEX] WON by 1
Round 2 plays (2pts):
John Senden to bear David Toms -108 @ Five Dimes LOST by 2 The 'Bounce-Back King'! Have backed Senden previously in a similar position and will do so again ... in the last 4 years he has started the 2nd round outside the top-100 22 times and has never shot worse than 72; Toms is more typical with some low 2nd round scores in this position, but more scores in the mid-to-high 70s
Charles Warren to beat George McNeill +100 @ Five Dimes LOST by 8 Similar story here, though Warren's record is not as good as Senden's. Only once in 34 times this decade has Warren been outside the top-100 and shot a worse round on Friday; for McNeill it is 7 of 20, if 2nd round withdrawals are counted
Boo Weekley to beat Sean O'Hair -110 @ Five Dimes WON by 2 Only one player in danger of missing the cut and given that O'Hair has missed his last two cuts and ranked a lowly 102nd in GIR yesterday, he may struggle to be playing at the weekend. Weekly has been in much the better form and it showed yesterday, ending the day in the top-10
Round 3 plays (2pts):
Brian Gay to beat Ben Curtis +120 @ The Greek [available widely] LOST by 4 196 players have recorded at least eight 3rd round scores on the PGA Tour over the last 12 months and, of these 196 players, Curtis ranks 191st in 3rd round scoring average. With Curtis also never shooting an under-par round at Sawgrass, I'll certainly back Gay against him in this round
Jeff Quinney to beat J.B. Holmes -104 @ Unibet [available widely] WON by 1 Sixth on his debut last year and currently 16th, Quinney is clearly well-suited to this course; less so the case with Holmes with has hit only 20/36 greens and regulation and ranks a lowly 80th in that category so far this week
Round 4 plays (2pts):
Tim Petrovic to beat Greg Kraft -103 @ Pinnacle [also available at Carib] LOST by 1 Opposing Kraft who, despite winning in Mexico earlier this year, in rarely in such a lofty final round position. The last time he was in a similar position, he shot 78 in the final round; Petrovic has been in a similar position twice this year already and shot 68-71
Steve Elkington to beat Chad Campbell +115 @ Expekt [available widely] LOST by 4 Campbell has struggled in the last four years here, so it is no surprise to see him struggle this week. Elkington, by contrast, is a two-time winner here and has finished 6th and 12th in the last two years, so looks more capable of shooting a decent score today
