He has a respectable record here with a couple of top tens but also three missed cuts. But given his recent run of form I would expect a decent showing from him this week. Matteson's recent form has been decent but he has missed the cut on 50% of his starts this season. And although he won here in 2006 he subsequently missed the cut the following year. With Mediate currently languishing in 169th for birdie average (even his US Open performance was based around not making bogeys) Couples should be a fairly strong favourite here.
