Bets: 7 Wins: 6 Losses: 1 Profit/Loss = + 10.60 pts Stake 3pts Ames to beat Appleby -110 @ BetFred Lose Ames is coming into form quite nicely now that the tour has moved to Florida. Appleby did put in a good performance last week but Ames's current form is the more impressive and he is also the more consistent. Ames also has by far the better record here leading 7-2 in h2h's against Appleby at Bay Hill.
Stake 3pts Mahan to beat Baddeley -110 @ The Greek, Boyle Sports Win Mahan's progression has continued and he has started the season well with a number of decent top twenty finishes. His record here was uninspiring until last seasons 6th place finish and he is a far better player now than he was then. Baddeley however continues to frustrate, he has been inconsistent his season and he has inconsistent previous form here. His lack of accuracy may be Baddeley's downfall this week.
Stake 2pts Trahan to beat Fisher -105 @ The Greek Win Fisher has been playing well of late but with little tour experience and no course experience I can't see him as favourite material against Trahan. Trahan has had a superbly consistent start to the season, he has decent length off the tee and is accurate which should be suited to this ocurse. In his two previous starts here he has creditable finishes of 36th and 31st. I make him a -120 shot here.
Stake 3pts Holmes to beat Haas -118 @ Unibet Win Holmes wouldn't be my ideal choice in terms of players to support this week but he has played here three times previously and made the cut each time. With conditions likely to be dry and hard again this week his length will be some sort of asset. Haas has missed his last two cuts and has a dreadful record in Florida. In h2h's he trailed Holmes 9-6 over the last 12 months and 9-2 in Florida events.
Stake 3pts J Singh to beat Immelman -115 @ The Greek Win Immelman put in a good performance last week but given his lack of consistency there has to be question marks on whether he can reporduce that form again this week. His average performance has been poor for a while now and his record here is not that great despite a 9th place finish in 2007. Jeev Milkha has been a model of consistency for a while now and has a good strong driving game which should be an asset this week. His Florida form is good and although he missed the cut on his only appearance here he showed enough promise in his second round to suggest that he should be able to put in another good performance this week.
Stake 2pts Z Johnson to beat Scott -110 @ Bet365 Win Scott has been pretty dreadful so far this season and missed the cut last week. He did finish 3rd here back in 2004 but his other performances have been at best average. Johnson has had a decent if slightly inconsistent start to the season His recentn finishes here have been average but he he finished 6th here in 2004 and 8th in 2005. Given Scott's recentn form I would have to make Johnson the favourite this week. Further Play Stake 2pts Lehman to beat Couples +100 @ Totesport Win Very surprising to see Lehman as the underdog after his heroics of last week. Both players had excellent finishes last time out, although Couples was over a month ago (I can't decide on whether that's a good thing or not!!). Both have shown good form here in the past but Lehman's performances here have arguably been the better and the more recent. Coupled with a h2h record that shows Lehman leading 11-9 over the last 36 months, 16-5 from events in Florida and 4-1 in events at Bay Hill it's surprising to see Couples as favourite here.
