3-7; -7.62pts Round 1 plays (1pt): Jim Furyk to beat Padraig Harrington +138 @ Stan James [tie loses] LOST by 2 Two particular angles in opposing Harrington. The first is the snowmen he has recorded in his last two events ... leading Tiger by one shot with three holes to play, he took eight at the 16th hole at Firestone to lose the event, and then in the final round of the PGA Championship he was one shot behind a faltering Tiger when he took another eight, a quintuple bogey this time, to lose his title. He may be in-form, but such self-destruction must surely take its toll on someone even as mentally tough as Pod. The second angle is that he has never done well in the PGA Tour Playoffs. His three Playoff finishes in 2007 read: 35th, mc, 11th (of 30); his three Playoff finishes in 2008 read: mc, mc, 55th. Furyk may not be as competitive as he once was, but he is still very consistent and these are great odds for opposing a player who may understandably struggle this week. Sergio Garcia to beat Padraig Harrington -105 @ Carib [also available @ SkyBet and William Hill] WON by 2 Garcia is also struggling to be the player that he once was, though at least did look like he had returned for three rounds last week. He finished one shot out of the playoff last week and lost in a playoff for this event last year. I wouldn't back him to win this event, but he won't need to in order to defeat Harrington in this matchup. Round 2 plays (2pts unless stated): Alex Cejka to beat James Nitties -105 @ FiveDimes [3pts] WON by 3 Ben Crane to beat Paul Goydos -105 @ Extrabet [tie loses] LOST by 2 Ben Crane to beat Boo Weekley -125 @ FiveDimes LOST by 3 Round 3 plays (2pts): Jim Furyk to beat Padraig Harrington +105 @ Unibet [also available @ Stan James and Extrabet] LOST by 3 Justin Rose to beat Y.E. Yang +100 @ FiveDimes LOST by 1 Cameron Beckman to beat Lee Janzen -101 @ Pinnacle [also available @ The Greek, Carib and WSEX] LOST by 4 Round 4 plays (1pt): Hunter Mahan to beat Jim Furyk +105 @ Stan James [tie loses] [also available @ William Hill] LOST by 1 Ernie Els to beat Jim Furyk -120 @ Carib WON by 3 Robert Allenby to beat Jim Furyk +130 @ William Hill [available generally] TIED
