Stake 1.5pts Marino to beat Curtis -118 @ BetInternet Lose
Stake 1.5pts Sutherland to beat Curtis -120 @ Pinnacle Win
I'm happy to oppose Curtis this week. He opened this season with a 66th place finish last week, he has four missed cuts from five previous starts here and in general his record on the west coast swing is pretty poor. I'm willing to forgive Marino for his missed cut last week where he couldn't buy a putt. In genenral he is consistent and has two decent finishes here from three starts. Sutherland is also supremely consistent with only one missed cut in the last nine months, he has never missed the cut here from thirteen starts and has four top ten finishes. He's had a decent start to the season and a similar showing should be enough to see off Curtis.

Stake 2.5pts Mickelson to beat Love -125 @ SportingBet
Mickelson missed the cut last week and Love does have four place finishes here. But there is little reason to suspect that Mickelson will repeat that showing this week and his average FP after a missed cut in the last three years is on a par with his total average FP. And while Love does have an excellent record here he still trails Mickelson by 2-5-1 here. It's hard to guage what odds Mickelson should be but I make it at best -150. Lose

Stake 1.5pts Donald to beat Villegas +107 @ Expekt Lose
Stake 1.5pts Pettersson to beat Villegas +138 @ Coral Lose
I still have question marks regarding Villegas. When his short game is good he is very good but he does have a tendancy to throw in a number of poor performances. I feel he could be a very streaky player. So I'd rather take him on with firstly Donald, who despite not winning as much as his ability suggests he should he has started the season encouragingly, his stats last time out were particularly good and despite not being long off the tee has always performed well here in his five finishes. Pettersson has also started the season well with two decent finishes and he has performed well here in the past with a couple of top ten finishes. He is clear value at this price as I make him a +110 shot.
