Sell Alvaro Quiros over Fredrik Jacobson 18H R1 MB at 3 with Sporting Index for 0.5 Pts M/U -28, Profit 15.5 Pts Quiros hasn't had many starts in the States so far, finishing 13th at Doral and 52nd in the Tampa event two weeks ago. He previously finished just inside the top 30 in the two back up events to the WGC played in Puerto Rico and Mexico in 2008. That's ok form but it doesnt follow that he should be as high as 3-6 over Jacobson, who although he hasnt had great results this year, has a top 5 to his name in 2009. Extrabet's 1-4 is probably closer to a good estimate of both players' abilities. Sell Martin Kaymer over Jeff Overton 18H R1 MB at 0 with Extrabet for 0.5 Pts M/U 19, Loss 9.5 Pts We have opposed Kaymer a few times on this tour and his updated record reads cut/57/cut/53/68/cut/35 so to make him favourite over Overton is surprising. Overton's 2009 includes 4 top 25's in his last 6 starts. Sell Lee Westwood over John Mallinger 18H R1 MB at 3 with Sporting Index for 0.5 Pts M/U 28, Loss 12.5 Pts Just a case of the price maybe being a bit high. Mallinger's scoring average isn't that far behind Westwood's to suggest that 3-6 is fair and course form for both is poor. Sell Daniel Chopra over Johnson Wagner 18H R1 MB at 1 with Sporting Index for 0.5 Pts M/U -16, Profit 8.5 Pts Chopra had a nightmare start to the year and has only turned it round recently with two good weeks in the far east and 8th last week at Bay Hill. His course form though is poor and Wagner sits with course form of 9/1. His 2009 results are average but he should take confidence into this week's event even if he does has the Defending Champion issues to deal with (lots of extra PR work off course). Sell Martin Kaymer over Justin Rose 18H R1 MB at 0 with Sporting Index for 0.5 Pts M/U -19, Profit 9.5 Pts Opposing Kaymer with possibly the most frustrating of all the UK players but on the numbers Rose should beat Kaymer wherever they play more often than not, so to get a level start in the one place Kaymer has really struggled is good value. Rose missed the cut here last year and that could be factored into the price but Rose leads 8-6 overall in the last yr and 4-1 on US soil. Sell Jeev Milkha Singh over Bart Bryant 18H R1 MB at 3 with Sporting Index for 0.5 Pts M/U -25, Profit 14 Pts 11th on the course last year for Bryant and with Singh having played here in the last two years and never bettering 70, those results are a positive strong enough to suggest a play even if both players are arguably going in different directions in their career. Bryant this year has a 4th in Puerto Rico but little else to show. He had a poor 79 last week to finish the Palmer event but 3 is big considering the course stats. Sell Scott Piercy over Steve Elkington 18H R1 MB at 1 with Spreadex for 0.5 Pts M/U 25, Loss 12 Pts With a better scoring record and lower FP average it seems strange that Elk is the underdog in this match. He finished 14th here last year whilst Piercy is a debutant, and although Piercy has two top 10s to his name this season he has missed his last two cuts, the 2nd with an 82 just last Friday. 4-3-0 +13.5 Pts |
