11-5; +4.43pts Round 1 plays (1pt): Phil Mickelson to beat Camilo Villegas -189 @ Unibet TIED Jim Furyk to beat Camilo Villegas -118 @ Unibet WON by 7 Two previous visits, two missed cuts and an average score of 78.75 ... I have no hesitation in opposing Villegas whose putting needs to improve dramatically if he is to ever challenge in this event. If you ignore last week's chaotic event, Mickelson has won his last two strokeplay events and has finished outside the top-10 at Augusta just once in the last 10 years. He is well worth the short price. Furyk may not have Mickelson's record around this course, but he has missed the cut just once in 12 attempts and should only need to do so again to finish ahead of Villegas this week. Kenny Perry to beat Alvaro Quiros -149 @ Unibet [also available @ Stan James] WON by 10 No-one else has recorded as many top-10 finishes as Perry this year; he ranks 3rd in the Scoring Average stats and 4th on the Money List; and he finished ahead of Quiros in both their common events last month. I really can't see a fairytale event for Quiros who has never even competed in a Major until this week. Tiger Woods to beat Rory McIlroy -150 @ SkyBet [tie loses] [available generally] WON by 2 A Masters debutant against a the World #1 and four-time winner here ... Paddy Power are clear in who they think will win this match when they make Tiger -400 to win. That is too short, but it also shows there can be plenty of value in short odds in events such as this. Sean O'Hair to beat Soren Kjeldsen -155 @ Pinnacle [also available @ Stan James, Unibet and WSEX] WON by 8 Out of the top-25 just once all year; was more than a little unfortunate to lose out to Tiger at Bay Hill two weeks ago; and was 14th last year ... it all points to a good week for O'Hair, which will be difficult for Kjeldsen who rank outside the top-100 on the European Tour in driving distance, driving accuracy, greens in regulation and putting average. Even despite his nervous win in the weak Open de Andalucia two weeks ago, Kjeldsen should really struggle around this course with that game.
