A disastrous couple of weeks and this week does not look much easier especially when the winners of this event for the last 3 years have been 125-1,80-1,150-1 respectively. There are a couple of additional long shots selected this week and therefore the staking plan has increased slightly for this week. A strong play has been made for Sabbatini who should have the perfect game for this course and has been showing some good form in recent weeks. Perry and Watney are both in great form although there is a slight concern over Perry's defeat at Augusta. Wilkinson was 3rd here last year and finished 6th last week but should have been better but for a "minor collapse" during the 4th round. Merrick, Marino, Piercy all have the game and it is just a case of when.... and Weibring is worth siding with at these odds in this weaker field especially having finished 8,21 in his last 2 starts.
